We are living in an age where women's rights are being taken away, immigration is being tested, and wars continue to be waged - with over 100 armed conflicts currently happening worldwide. Where genocide is presently a reality, and the oppression of individual rights for self-determination and self-expression is ongoing and evermore a threat to our freedoms. Our world, as stated, is a mess today.

It is hard to feel joyous and free when these unspeakable things are happening.

So, in these trying times, let's stand firm, united, and resilient - understanding that it is precisely in moments like these that the healing power of community and connection is needed.

"Working in nightlife is challenging, and I never took things for granted when I started doing drag. Many people helped bring Juanita to life––it has never just been me. I have also been very conscious of the many queens and kings who came before me, leaving many things to learn from—especially making a positive difference in the lives of our community members. Our q***r elders also left us some essential things to carry forward. For me, one thing that stood out most was giving back. I took that to heart from the start, used my privilege as a San Francisco queen, and began organizing events to benefit my community. To date, I’ve helped to raise over 1 million dollars for local charities, shining a light on some of San Francisco’s most impactful LGBTQIA+ organizations." Juanita MORE!
