Last month, we cut the ribbon on our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility — and threw a grand opening celebration to commemorate the event! We were fortunate to have a stellar list of VIP speakers including Austin Mayor Steve King , Nu-Tek CEO Thomas L Yezzi, Medical Alley’s Frank Jaskulke, and a congratulatory message from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. In a pre-grand opening visit, Senator Amy Klobuchar also stopped by for a tour. A big thank you to everyone who came out to wish us well.

Nu-Tek BioSciences building $40 million peptone factory in Austin The facility is being touted as the first in the United States to focus on proteins free of animal tissue.

“We really looked at Austin because they have a very rich manufacturing history,” said CEO Tom Yezz prior to the eventi. “It’s really the proximity to the healthcare industry with Mayo Clinic Health System and The Hormel Institute.”

Nu-Tek BioSciences broke ground today on a 60,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility in Austin, MN. Future home of the first dedicated animal-free peptone manufacturing facility in the U.S. for raw materials needed for certain biologics manufacturing.

Today Nu-Tek BioSciences, LLC announced it will build a new manufacturing facility in Austin, Minnesota. This will be the first dedicated, animal-free peptone, and protein hydrolysate manufacturing facility in the U.S. This U.S. owned peptone manufacturing plant will help meet the rapidly growing demand for materials used to manufacture biologics.

For more than ten years, Nu-Tek BioSciences has been manufacturing and supplying peptones to the pharmaceutical industry. The Company is currently supplying a critical component used in the manufacture of a COVID-19 vaccine.
