It's National Dachshund Day! 🐾 So to celebrate my two perfect, absolutely crazy puppies I wanted to share some illustrated designs I have been working on. 🖋
They will be available for purchase online soon in the form of cards, wall art, and more! 🛍 I am waiting to launch the shop until I have a good selection of items for you to check out.

I have walked by this sign many times in the last few weeks and I finally stopped today to snap a picture with the pups! 🌿🐾
It was lovely working with Friends of the Red Oak Trails on this project and it is so great to see this design in action! 🌤

We are still being asked all the time, "how is the house coming?" and right now it seems like our most common answer is, "well, it's basically done." And I wanted to share here what "basically done" means.😊
Basically done means I can share the beautiful places in our home that I love like the ones below with you all, but also . . .

▪️ the drywall in our stairwell needs sanding and probably another coat
▪️ we still haven't installed pulls on any of the office built ins
▪️ the exterior siding keeps being put off and may never be done
▪️ there are still small holes in the floor that need to be patched
▪️ the basement is still neon shades of green and pink covered in a layer of mud
▪️ there is still construction dust that seems to appear on every surface even when we haven't sanded anything for weeks
▪️ plus this house is old and will require small repairs for the rest of forever

I'm not meaning to complain, we love this house and it has been a dream making every inch of it our own. 🛠✨ I just want to explain, because when people ask for pictures the perfectionist side of my brain wants to wait until we are all done, which I realistically know will never come.
I've shared both bathrooms before, and the bedrooms aren't quite up to my "photo ready" standards, but below are some of the downstairs living spaces, and I will eventually be doing a full post with photos of each room. Maybe when there are no more holes? 😅

This bathroom has thrown a lot at us, but it is currently my favorite room in the house. 🛁🫧
From demoing a bedroom to make the bathroom bigger, to having to replace the floor joists in half the bathroom due to a prior renovation gone wrong, to getting the original claw foot tub up the stairs, to trimming out all the new windows and installing the tub, toilet, and sink ourselves . . . this bathroom had made us question our sanity many times over. 😵‍💫 But it is now a peaceful haven that we love to be in and look around with pride to see how far we have come in skill and determination. And thank goodness, we learned our lesson in the kitchen. And downstairs bathroom and had a professional tile this one. 🛠
The finishes touches also make this room. I digitally drew all but one of the prints you see hanging in this bathroom! The dark green floral one is actually left over wallpaper. I am slowing working on building more digital art like this and will hopefully be opening an Etsy shop soon. What style of prints would you be most likely to hang in your home? I would love to be the one to draw the art that ties your home together! 🖼 🤍

Just wanted to quick post a few graphic design projects that I have been working on the last few months! ✏️ I am still scheduled out a few months for projects, but slowly catching up on things.
The house has been the priority lately, and will continue to be for another month or so. 🏠 But I am still doing graphic design, so if you are needing anything done this fall or winter keep me in mind! 😊

We have had a lot of questions asking about the house, and although it is not yet done, we are seeing the light shining through the clouds. 🌥 These are a few corners of the house that currently bring me joy while we are still working on a seemingly endless string of projects. 😊🏡
And I know I missed fathers day, but I want to give a HUGE shout out to my dad. 💗 Any drywall that looks half decent in the house was entirely his doing. Turns out David and I are completely useless at it. Dad, as well as both of our families have been amazing during the while reno process. Always willing to spend a Saturday or a whole weekend demoing, painting, or worse! 🛠😅 We couldn't have accomplished all we have without our amazing village. 🥰
I will be going through posting room by room as we complete them. Most rooms are in all technicality "done", but don't have art on the walls or rugs on the floor. 🖼 We still have an entire room full of boxes from the move. We are just finishing up little projects now - kitchen backsplash, clawfoot tub, refinishing the stairwell. Stay tuned for updates!

The Main Bedroom Closet Reno is finally wrapping up! So proud of this transformation! ✨
David and I installed all the cabinets ourselves and on top of that hand planed, sanded and stained the beautiful butcher block countertop we made out of 2x4s. It is not 100% done, but I couldn't help but stage it a bit and show it off to you guys!

I haven't had a chance to give a full update on the house renovation in a while, so brace yourself for a long post! 🛠🪚
As we move into Fall we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel in the home reno! 🍂 As you can see in the photos, most of the bedrooms (except one) have been painted, all major repairs have been made and we are just finishing up some detail projects in those rooms. The Kitchen is coming along well, just need to finish mudding the ceiling, finish cabinet install, and then we can get measured for countertops. We are also planning on tiling the kitchen and bathrooms ourselves, so pray for us! The Bathrooms are where the most work still needs to happen. Plumbing is going in at a steady pace now, and then we can close up the floors, walls, ceilings for good! The heating and AC is finished and in, electrical has been updated, but we still need to tweak a few rooms, and the exterior siding should be getting started any day now.
