The Heart Behind Burke Country Custom

It all started with a simple bench my husband built for our fire pit. For us, that bench symbolized colorful fall nights of sitting underneath the stars, huddled up with our family and friends, talking and laughing about life. From there, it grew into a beautiful, long farmhouse dining room table built for 10, in which we envisioned surrounding with our little ones and sharing everyday life together as a family. We quickly learned in our fast-paced culture of today that the building of a family does not come by chance, instead it takes intentional time and energy. We believe that the family unit is the foundation upon which all of society depends, and that the fostering of healthy families happens within the four walls of our homes each and every day as we look to show love to the ones entrusted to us. The furniture and home decor we fill our home with is not only a matter of decoration, but a real way to demonstrate love and care to those who call our homes home.

The heart behind Burke Country Custom is to see the family unit strengthened as families take back ownership of making their homes a haven for their spouses and children in the midst of the often crazy and chaotic world around us. Our mission is to make custom made furniture and home decor for families that help them to create spaces of beauty and warmth in their own homes, whether it’s a beautiful farmhouse table for the entire family to gather around or handcrafted boxes to hold a child’s little treasures or photos of memories to remember.

In a world where success and prestige are exalted above everything else, and often at the expense of those we love, we long to help provide families with the resources to thrive. Our environments shape the ways in which we process and relate to the world around us, and we want to help families create environments that build up and strengthen those they love. As we gather around our table as a family, we can’t help but dream about how to help other families do the same, and as a result Burke Country Custom was born.
