ELDERBERRY 101

🤷🏻‍♀️ Being a Nurse practitioner, I feel like the “why” is very very important when it comes to our health and choosing what we want to put into our bodies.

A lot of people have heard about Elderberry but let’s talk about some of the specific benefits of this super-food plant!

🌱 Elderberry is a medicinal plant that has been used throughout history by Ancient Egyptians to Europeans to Native Americans.

🔥 In the beginning the juice was made into a salve to aid in wound and burn healing and the flowers were used topically to tone and soften skin and even lighten freckles or sun spots.

💥 The main properties that Elderberry have are these; antiviral, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, immunity-boosting, and is antioxidant rich. AMAZING!!!

🌞 Elderberries are nutrient rich. Some include; bioflavonoids, choline, omega-3 fatty acid, omega-6 fatty acid, pectin, vitamin A, C and E.
