A gentle reminder… 🦄🦄🦄 some horses are luckier than others ❤️

Jane Smiley wrote this:

Most horses pass from one human to another - some horsemen and women are patient and forgiving, others are rigorous and demanding, others are cruel, others are ignorant.

Horses have to learn how to, at the minimum, walk, trot, canter, gallop, go on trails and maybe jump, to be treated by the vet, all with sense and good manners.

Talented Thoroughbreds must learn how to win races, and if they can't do that, they must learn how to negotiate courses and jump over strange obstacles without touching them, or do complicated dance
like movements or control cattle or accommodate severely handicapped children and adults in therapy work.

Many horses learn all of these things in the course of a single lifetime. Besides this, they learn to understand and fit into the successive social systems of other horses they meet along the way.

A horse's life is rather like twenty years in foster care, or in and out of prison, while at the same time changing schools over and over and discovering that not only do the other students already have their own social groups, but that what you learned at the old school hasn't much application at the new one.

We do not require as much of any other species, including humans.

That horses frequently excel, that they exceed the expectations of their owners and trainers in such circumstances, is as much a testament to their intelligence and adaptability as to their relationship skills or their natural generosity or their inborn nature.

That they sometimes manifest the same symptoms as abandoned orphans - distress, strange behaviors, anger, fear - is less surprising than that they usually don't.

No one expects a child, or even a dog to develop its intellectual capacities living in a box 23 hours a day and then doing controlled exercises the remaining one.

Mammal minds develop through social interaction and stimulation.

A horse that seems "stupid", "slow", "stubborn", etc. might just have not gotten the chance to learn!

Take care of your horses and treasure them. 🐎💙☘️

🔥 sale
Snowflake Kara 16.1 hh Thoroughbred mare

This mare has been my pro horse for the past 10 years. She does EVERYTHING! I've taken her to the beach (may be doing again soon with some friends ⛱️) shown up and down from PA to Wellington, jumpers and dressage...could do hunters, it's just not my preference. Absolutely sweet and takes care of rider in all things, no funny business. I've let beginners take lessons on her and pony camps, too. I trust the mare in the scariest situations...I'm looking for her forever home. I love her dearly.
She is priced affordably, but want to be sure the fit is right ❤️
Ideally before negotiating, I like the potential buyer to come and try her, even if she's a little out of budget :)

Wilderer Equestrian had another busy summer of horse sales. We started the summer selling our lovely client's horse Willa to her new eventing home where she is thriving and her new owner absolutely adores her. And at the beginning of this fall we sold another consignment client's lovely gelding, Ralph, to his new amazing home at Bluestone Equestrian. He settled in like a champ and are very excited to see this horse progress with this program!
Wilderer Equestrian will be wrapping up our fall here in Pennsylvania and heading down to sunny Wellington Florida November 1st. Looking forward to more sales horses and showing this Winter Circuit.

Hello Ralph! ❤️

LEASED- This mare is the real deal. 'Snowflake Kara' 2009 16.1 Thoroughbred Mare. Gorgeous mover on the flat and has nice scope over jumps. Schooling at home 1.20, and shown up to 1.15M at WEF, Plantation, the Ridge, Jim Brandon, and Princeton. Plenty of scope to continue moving up the levels or jump around and "takes a joke" at the 1.10m. This mare has a GREAT EYE AND perfect for an amateur adult, or an up and coming junior looking to win in the higher classes. This horse does it all and is SAFE: no vices, easy to trailer and clip. This is a horse you want in your barn. Competitive attitude for the more advanced rider or can pack around a more beginner rider. Super sweet on ground and an eye catcher! Not spooky. She hacks out alone and can be turned out with mares or geldings.

Recently went out XC schooling and she will jump anything you point her at. Nice scores in dressage as well! Available to be tried in Cochranville, PA - Mid-Lower Five Figures. Yearly Lease options also available (Low Five Figures). PM for video and questions.

Hacks out alone or in groups. This horse is game to try it all. I could really see him excelling as a children’s hunter or pony club horse. Kick ride, can use spurs or a whip and this horse does not care! Jumped his first course this weekend and he did not bat an eye at any jump he was pointed to. Already picking up his natural lead changes. You will want to come try this horse, he is seriously amazing. For this weeks Wilderer Equestrian is so happy to announce that one of our previous lesson horses has found the most amazing forever home. Congratulations to Don and Theresa on their purchase of Cooper. Long term leasers turned into a forever home. We are so excited for Cooper as he is extremely spoiled in this new job and it could not be a more perfect fit.

Katie has owned Cooper since he was a 2 year old. He has been an all around trail, dressage, and jumping horse. He has taught many riders and has been loved by so many in our program. Congrats to all in their new journey!

‘I want to just ride’ - Say this to any seasoned professional in the game and they will look at you like ‘Oh honey’ 😂

You have to learn to be a rider, groom, horseman/women, business owner, lead a team, handle clients and alongside all this you’ve still got to muck out and pick a broom up until you can earn enough money to have someone help you do this whilst you are doing something else to earn this said money.

‘I want to just ride’ doesn’t exist and if you see someone doing that you have no idea how hard they worked to get in that position. So get sweeping my friend ♥️

Time for another . This week we have a sales horse from 2021, R D Magic. R D Magic, now lovingly known as Dove, was Thoroughbred from Walnut Green that Wilderer Equestrian got last year to find her a new career outside of racing. She is now living only a couple miles from us in Pennsylvania. Dove and her owner have accomplished so much in their time together. Dove loves to spend her days with her mini and donkey friends. She has turned out to be a barn favorite and everyone loves her. WE love to see such a solid foundation being put on this young horse. Congrats Ashley and Dove, can't wait to continue to follow your progress this Spring.

What a talented horse. Aspen is now killing it in his local Hunter series. Very happy with the partnership this horse found!

At Wilderer Equestrian we pride ourselves in the matches that our sales horses find in their future homes. Have a horse you're looking to sell contact us today to find its next perfect match.
