Last year, the worst thing that can happen to a photographer, happened to me - before I could share a gallery to a family, my hard drive crashed. I lost two sessions that I was never able to recover in addition to years of my own personal photos. After months of working with a data recovery service, I was told it was hopeless. I shut down. I stopped taking on new clients. I almost quit this job I love, completely. I still panic before, after and in between sessions...and question everyday if I should keep going. But then your kids run to me, they hug me, they walk away from the session hand in hand with me...and I gain a little bit of confidence back. Your husbands say "that wasn't so bad", you refer me to friends and family...and I gain a little more. And the best thing - you call me again to take more photos!

This is one of the sweet families who I failed, but they were here visiting again and took me up on my offer to reshoot. I am so glad they did. This is just a sneak peek, but I am just so grateful they gave me a second chance!

I will be in touch with customers this week. As weather can shift quickly - I do not like to reschedule until the day of (within 1-2 hours of the scheduled session). If you are visiting from out of state, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule first, but if we are unable to reschedule-you deposit becomes refundable.

If you are scheduling during hurricane season, please keep in weather in mind - it’s much MUCH windier, there is typically more seaweed on the beaches, and it can be overcast. I will only cancel/reschedule for rain and severe/unsafe conditions.

I had the honor and privilege to photograph this amazing family -

San Diego police Sgt. Anthony Elliott was shot in the head in December 2023 during an exchange of gunfire with a suspect in a vehicle theft and a domestic-abuse case.

Elliott's injuries were so severe that they were surprised initially that he lived, much less that he was talking on the way to the emergency room. Sergeant Tony Elliott underwent brain surgery. During the surgery, they realized they could not remove the main bullet as it was too deep in his brain. He was in critical care with high mortality rate for days. Elliott was partially paralyzed after the shooting with no feeling or movement on the entire left side of his body. Eventually, with intense rehab he was able to regain some movement. First, small movements like wiggling his toe, then taking his first step, and eventually able to be in a wheel chair. His recovery continued over the next months and Sergeant Elliott continued to make a remarkable recovery within a short period of time even though the bullet remains in his brain.

Eventually, Tony was released from the hospital, arriving home to a hero's welcome. After about 3 months, he has made a miraculous recovery and regained back almost all movement on his left side and is able to walk, run and play with his kids. He's been documenting his ongoing grueling recovery on social media .
