Our Story
The Sound Guys consist of two people, Austin Lengenfelder and Brayden Renner, what started out as just two guys playing some music at high school dances turned into something much bigger. We started out with just two borrowed speakers and a homemade lighting rig with two small lights off of Amazon, we then picked up some small town weddings for people who couldn't afford the $2000 Minneapolis DJ and then began our company pledge. To not just be some company that takes your money and never meets you so you have to just hope for the best. Our goal was to be better than the rest, and charge way less, like we tell our clients “Were not in this for the money, were in this to give you the absolute best night of your life without making you go broke, so you don’t have to make financial sacrifices to afford the DJ.” Weddings are EXPENSIVE and the DJ should not be the tipping point, some clients ask us for a quote and when we see the gloom on there faces we simply ask “what can you afford” and then we work with that. We are not some unknown entity when you work with us, we will sit down with you personally, at the office or at a coffee shop, we meet on your schedule. Our business hours are whenever you decide to call us, and when we meet we go over every aspect of the night and all of your expectations, and we will meet them with 100% effort and with 100% success. We built this business from the ground up for the last 6 years, we’ve made the mistake, we’ve fixed them, after every gig we look over any hiccups and do everything to prevent it from ever happening again. Most importantly, we are a family orientated business, we keep things clean, we keep things fun, we have the literal clause in our contracts that says we hold the right to decline music request that is marked explicit or in bad taste, the bad taste being defined by the bride and groom or client beforehand. We play old stuff we play new stuff. We play stuff you may have never heard before but might enjoy, we play music ranging from the late 1800s to present, we try to honor the request to the best of our ability. We do something that I have never seen another DJ do, we have a two-part system, between the two of us, one person plays and stacks the music and one that researches. We have a guy research music during the gig for any requests, whether the song is in good taste and the lyrical content, I've heard DJ’s slip up and play a song and oops there go and F-Bomb, you never have to worry about that with us, because go above and beyond to give you the best experience possible and these are only just a few examples.
If you're looking for a DJ don’t for a second think you need to fork out $1000 for some DJ such and such from Minnesota or Chicago or even here in the great state of North Dakota, go with the one that will give you the $1000 experience for much less. We more than just DJ’s, we’re The Sound Guys, give us a call.
