It’s a full moon and I’ve been a Debbie Downer all week. Still at it tonight. Several bigger vendors have been trying to us a “poor me” tactic and saying they’re closing up shop and going out of business. In turn they get a crap load of sales, tons of traffic to their page, etc because people truly want to try to help these “dying” businesses stay afloat.

What people don’t see is them coming out with new items a few months later, still marketing strong, acting like it’s business as usual.

This is very frustrating to us that are sticking with it because we love our craft. Sewing is something I see as a dying “trade”. Being on both sides of this industry, I know the time and money it takes to provide hand made quality items but also know we’re all ballin’ on a budget and certain ahem, “places” provide insanely low priced items, but we all forget how they’re able to sell said items for cheap. It’s heartbreaking, sad, and downright disgusting.

But getting back to this “marketing tactic”, it’s gross. It’s tacky. It’s annoying. It’s dishonest, and disheartening. If I ever say I’m shutting it down, I’ll mean it. 😆😵‍💫 I love this gig and it is fun to push my creativity. I’m not giving up on it quite yet. 40% because I have too much inventory and 60% because I enjoy sewing and styling. 😂

I told myself I’m done buying more fabric but of course my two best selling drops (currently sold out) are on sale this weekend and I can give them to you for about $30 shipped 😫 I have to have 10 preorders of each before I do it though so who wants them?!

I guess if my sewing machine ever breaks, I have a backup plan in marketing. Pepperidge Farm had a couple typos so I fixed them.

Who would be interested in a “fly on the wall” newborn sesh? It would be a full newborn session where you can watch it all the way through but I wouldn’t specifically go over posing or lighting.

Times are soooo weird right now and I know we ALL feel it. Between the ec0n0my, b00kings being at an all time low (for me too guys!), and s0cial media reach sucking real hard, I’m going to be 100% transparent and just come out and say my website launch was an epic flop.

I love this little gig so much I’m doing everything I can to keep going, but man, I also have to be realistic. I really just came on here to complain and hope sucky Zucky sees it so he can hear me tell him to go Zuck himself. See what I did there? 🤣

Anyways, these two drops were sold out instantly yesterday and people are super sad about it. Even at 30% off, I’m paying out of my own pocket for you to have it 😬, so if I do a preorder, I can’t discount them. What do you think?

Ella and I both have the same look when we think about the fact that we haven't sold a single one of these rompers. I mean it has a removable skirt AND coordinating tieback. Zuck's sucks. I can't wait for 6/15 when (fingers crossed) our website finally launches.

I’m back from the most incredible fishing trip to Canada and I came home to a bunch of fabric I forgot I ordered 🫣

My cancer follow ups got pushed back a month, so my scan will be the end of this month. Did you know the thyroid is a butterfly shape? And did you know the yellow fabric I have sitting under it was from my grandma’s old pile of sewing stuff? They match perfectly 🥹

If my scan comes back clear, I’m heading straight from my oncologist and back home to sew up some rompers so you all can celebrate with me. Keep in mind if you purchase one of these, that yellow fabric will come with a piece of my heart and a whole lotta relief. If any photographers that follow me here have gone through thyroid cancer, you get first dibs. And it will also be free 🥰
