MHS Maverick Golf

The Mavericks finished runner up at the JV District Tournament! Freshman Brody Solis led the team with a score of 80 and a 4th place finish overall. Other team members included Trevor McDaniel, Hart Hudson, Aiden Kerr, Gavin Skinner, Landon Heath, and Simon Lessard. Next up, the Varsity District Preview tomorrow at Tempest GC. 🤘

The Mavericks and Lady Mavericks golf teams played well today at Crossing Creeks CC. The tournament was hosted by the Longview Lobos. The Mavericks won the tournament with a team total of 326. Luke LaBouve led the team with a score of 75, good enough for 2nd place overall. Team members included Luke, Dayne Ferguson, Gavin Carlile, Cade Runyan, Graham Smith, Sam Abney, Trevor McDaniel, and Hart Hudson. The Lady Mavericks, who continue to show improvement, finished 4th. The team was led by Nola Broadus, who finished 12th overall. Team members included Nola, Kendall Lambright, Adeline Love, Hayden Brady, Addie Fairchild, and Kinlee Smith. Horns Up!

Congrats to the Mavericks today! Our team finished 1st and Luke LaBouve was the overall champion! Our girls team didn’t have their best day but continue to improve. Adeline Love led the team and improved 9 shots from her last tournament. Boys team members included Luke LaBouve, Dayne Ferguson, Gavin Carlile, Sam Abney, and Cade Runyan. Girls team members included Nola Broadus, Hayden Brady, Addie Fairchild, Kendall Lambright, Adeline Love, and team manager Kinlee Smith. 🤘 ⛳️

Another fun day on the links! The Lady Mavs finished 8th at the Sulphur Springs Invitational! These 9th graders are getting better and better!

The 1st tournament of the season is in the books. We didn’t play our best; however, we’re excited for the remainder of the season! 🤘

The boys teams played in 2 tournaments over the last week. Both teams finished in the top ten at Hallsville’s invitational at Wood Hollow GC. Our Varsity boys finished 7th at Mount Pleasant CC on Monday and our other team finished 2nd in the JV division. Congratulations to freshman Brody Solis on finishing 3rd overall in the JV division. 🤘

Congrats to the boys today! We had 2 teams competing today in the Capt’N Crew invitational hosted by Pine Tree. Luke LaBouve, Cade Runyan, Brody Solis, and Graham Smith finished 3rd as a team. Luke LaBouve finished 2nd as an individual. Our other team was represented by Dayne Ferguson, Sam Abney, Gavin Carlile, and Trevor McDaniel. 🤘

The Mavs finished 6th today at Tempest Golf Club. 🤘

For the first time in the history of the program, Maverick Golf has a full girls’ team! Hayden Brady, Nola Broadus, Kendall Lambright and Adeline Love along with Coach Broadus, finished 8th in a field of 13 combo teams and were the lowest scoring all-girls team with a score of 64. Lady Mavs Golf will compete next on October 23rd at Sulphur Springs Country Club.

Congratulations to our boys team and Coach Koesel for finishing 2nd in the Pine Tree tournament today @ Wood Hollow Golf Course. The tournament was a team scramble format. Our guys shot 57 and finished two shots back of Texas High. Team members included Brody Solis, Hart Hudson, Aiden Kerr, Simon Lessard, and Landon Heath. Horns Up! 🤘

We have 11 students in our middle school golf class. These students get to the course as early as 6:45 am daily, eager to learn and put in the effort. Thanks to Marshall ISD and Marshall Lakeside Country Club for making this possible. Kudos to these golfers and families. 🤘

Marshall Maverick golfers Luke LaBouve, Gavin Carlile, and Sam Abney shared the podium today at the Arklatex Junior Golf Tour event at Meadowbrook Golf Course. Luke shot 75 and was the overall winner. Gavin was runner up with a score of 79. Sam finished 3rd with a score of 82. Congrats guys!
