As of Monday July 22nd, the day after Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race and Vice President Kamala Harris became the presumptive Democratic nominee, Harris had a 33.21% chance of winning the election. Since then Harris has raised her chances of victory by nearly 10 points to 42.67% according to our Sports Handle election odds tracker. Here are the election odds as of July 29th:

Donald Trump - 62.88%
Kamala Harris - 42.67%

Here is what our SportsHandle spokesperson had to say on the odds:

“While the odds still heavily favor a Trump victory this November, Harris’s numbers since becoming the de facto nominee have been promising. Her nearly 10 point jump in the last week gives her better odds than Biden had since late May. Donald Trump’s odds are now also the lowest they’ve been since before his debate with President Biden on June 27th. If Harris can keep building momentum and continue increasing her odds over the next few weeks, this race could become very tight in a hurry.”

While the RNC wraps up today, the news that could have the biggest impact on this year’s election might be coming from the other side of the aisle. Amid reports that President Biden has become more receptive to pleas for him to step down as the Democratic nominee, Vice President Harris’s odds have jumped 10 points up to 18.6%, once again making her election as president more likely than a Biden win according to our Sports Handle election odds tracker. That puts her 6 points ahead of Biden’s chances, but still far behind Trump. As of July 18th, here are the election odds for the top candidates:

Donald Trump - 73.5%
Kamala Harris - 18.6%
Joe Biden - 12.2%

"Trump still has a commanding lead at the moment, but odds tell us the Democrats could be on the verge of making a historic move, replacing their nominee this late in the game," a Sports Handle spokesman said.
