A graduate of the George Washington University Law School, she was only the fourth woman ever to be chosen as CEO of a state bankers' association. She was also named one of ten most influential people under 40 by the Phoenix Business Journal. Poole spent nearly 15 years as a multistate government relations executive for USAA, a Fortune 100 company.

We are happy to welcome Mariah Ball to the Steamboat Group team as an Accounts Receivable Representative!

In this role, Mariah is responsible for ensuring timely payments and reporting best practices for our group, working closely with our team, partners, and clients.

Mariah brings both customer service and accounting experience to the team. Most recently, she was an Accounts Receivable Analyst working with customer payments, account reconciliation, and expenses. She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Congratulations to Keith Watson, who was recently promoted to AVP, Finance at Steamboat Group!

In this role, Keith will expand upon his previous accounting duties – including ensuring data integrity and managing workflows and efficiencies. Alongside his accounting responsibilities, Keith is heavily involved in treasury-related work for Steamboat Group.

Keith joined the company in June 2016 as a Senior Accountant.

“Due to his strong work ethic, reliability, commitment, and dedication, Keith was promoted to Accounting Manager in July 2022,” said Matthew Studinski, SVP of Finance for Steamboat Group. “Those same characteristics led to his promotion to AVP, Finance in March 2024.”

In this role, Adam helps achieve company goals using proven marketing, communication skills, and digital promotion in support of corporate strategies. He works closely with senior leadership to drive measurable company growth, efficiencies, service excellence, and effective communications to current and prospective clients, partners, and team members.

Adam is no stranger to developing and managing marketing strategy. His experience prior to joining Steamboat Group in August 2020 included managing marketing teams, editing web content, and developing new business proposals. Adam quickly moved up in marketing leadership at Steamboat – starting as a Marketing Automation Specialist to a promotion as Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing. He has extensive knowledge in both the technical and strategic sides of marketing, as well as best business practices in multiple technology platforms.

“Adam was a great addition to our team in 2020,” said supervisor Sonya O’Malley, SVP of Human Resources at Steamboat Group. “He has learned our business quickly and readily takes on additional responsibilities. This promotion is well-deserved, and I know he will continue to make an incredible impact in his new role.”

Steamboat Vice President of Finance Gene Norton has retired after 35 successful years at the company.

Gene joined OSC Insurance Services, a subsidiary of Steamboat Group that provides lender-placed insurance and tracking technology solutions, in November 1988 as an Accounting Supervisor. Hard work earned him promotions to Manager in 1991, AVP/Controller in 1994, and ultimately VP of Finance starting in 1999.

He has been a key figure in the growth and success of Steamboat Group throughout the years. We appreciate all his dedication.

He will be missed, but we wish him a happy and well-deserved retirement!

OSC scores a hole-in-one for charity as they sponsor the Reach Out Honduras 14th Annual Golf Tournament April 8, 2024, in Southlake, Texas!

The four-person scramble held at the Timarron Country Club will raise money for Reach Out Honduras, a nonprofit organization that raises money for kids in Honduras.

Two OSC team members hope to score under par for this above-par charitable event. Russell Hall, event organizer and SVP of Business Development, and Michael Randall, EVP of Business Development and Client Services, will play the 18 holes at the tournament. Other representatives from OSC and our valued agent partners will soak up the sun and support this important cause at the event.

A huge congratulations to Bryan Halley as we celebrate his 25th year at OSC! Employee milestones like this don’t happen every day, so we wanted to take a moment and share with you how valued and appreciated Bryan is by our team.

Bryan, who is the Director of Information Systems at OSC, joined the team in November of 1998. His leadership and expertise are crucial in the day-to-day and big picture operations at OSC.

He leads a talented group of software professionals responsible for enhancements to the OSCIS software suite, as well as special client projects including new client implementations, integrating the software suite with internal and external systems, and providing client helpdesk and support. Before being promoted to Director, he developed the claim, cash, and commission systems as well as many varied development projects that spanned the entire software suite.

As part of the giving tradition during the holiday season, OSC has partnered with the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge as a campaign donor.

OSC and IL Group have donated $2,500 to the 13th Annual Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge. The online campaign by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA), a business partner of OSC, supports housing nonprofits throughout Idaho. The money raised will help provide critical resources to ensure those in Idaho have access to safe, stable, affordable housing.

Tiffany Hall, Lender Solutions Representative at OSC, recently volunteered at a gala for Reach Out Honduras, a nonprofit organization that raises money for kids in Honduras. The funds support education, meals, school supplies, and clothing for the kids in need.

“For the past several years, I have volunteered for many of their fundraising events,” Tiffany said. “This includes golf tournaments and galas. I enjoy this type of work as it gives me a sense of joy.”
