We love watching the morning fog burn off. A nice walk for your dog is down the walkway to this driveway in front of some of the other cabins. Nice and flat!!

Friends and fans, all is well at our cabins and the nearby areas of Pigeon Forge and the near side of Gatlinburg. The maps below show you the areas east of us that are suffering. Newport, for instance, is 40 miles northeast. Many folks who work in our tourist towns live in the affected areas. I will post in the comments what our Mountaineer Cleaning & Maintenance (our service) is doing to help folks in Newport and how you can contribute, if you are able. I'll also comment with some reliable links for you to check what the current conditions are in the Park and surrounding area. Facebook groups are filled with trolls. Look to reliable sources.

This is a wonderful part of the National Park to visit, a little over 30 minutes from our cabin. This historic district is not very wheelchair accessible, but if you can transfer a bit, it might be worth a visit. Look closely at the photos to decide.

Cabin restorations bring new life to former town in the Smokies A two-century-old logging community and recreational hub sat dormant to literally deteriorated before our eyes over the past couple of years.

It's always fun to see a bear pass by -- wild and not interested in humans. We appreciate all of the guests up on our ridge who follow our trash procedures and keep the bears safe!

The big fireworks show in Wears Valley is TONIGHT, Sunday, June 30. It's so fun to sit on our deck and watch people setting off their own fireworks in the Valley below all week long!
