A huge congratulations to Gigante's Board President, Michael Stebbins, and all involved in Optimist Theatre's one-person production HAMLET, which opened yesterday, June 29, at Humboldt Park -- featuring the awesome Libby Amato as HAMLET and all other characters! Under Michael's outstanding direction, Libby's amazing chops, and all others involved (Melissa Wanke, Sam Fitzwater Butchart, Chris Guse, Jenn Sorvick, Matt Norby and Susan Scot Fry), the production WOWS! BRAVI TUTTI! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Go see it! You'll be happy you did! For more dates and times:

We very much enjoyed Summit Players' Midsummer preview at Marquette on Thursday night. Director Maureen Kilmurry adapted the script down to a fast moving six-actor character-juggling act. Example: Maya Danks played Egeus, Helena, Snout, and a fairy -- and maybe someone else. Each character was finely etched, then crisply dropped as she stepped into the next role. And so it was with the whole cast. Excellent direction, dynamic physicality, fun musical moments, and robust and disciplined performances. Very impressive, very enjoyable, very much worth the drive to a state park and purchase of a daily permit. Go see it!
Their summer tour begins Friday, June 14, at Richard B**g State Recreation Area.

Theatre Gigante's HERETHEREWHERE
AWESOME OPENING NIGHT AUDIENCE COMMENTS!
“Theatre folk - if you like the live presence onstage of actors as human beings seeking answers to life's biggest questions (without the help of Guy Noir, Detective), actors who with writers and musicians and lighting and video and sound - have created an imaginative, whimsical, inconclusive world, a world that defies the pat answers of churches, religions, and philosophers - get thee to Theatre Gigante for this lovely production. Rich in thought, imagination, music, and WONDER, it's a feast, a feat, a Gigantic yet simple paradoxical present for Here, There, Wherever YOU are.”
“I love them!!”
“Experience an Existential Crisis with friends! Checkout Theatre Gigante's HERETHEREWHERE ... Overthinking, underthinking, self-imposed rules, Stars! Whimsical evening that questions your own existence. I feel seen.”
“Zenny, funny, intricate and full of wonder. I feel it is Gigante’s pinnacle work. Brilliant writing. Alessandro is Chaplinesque. Go go go.”
"If enjoying local theatre keeps you young, and these 3 performers will leave you with many smile lines!, then be sure to attend one of the 2 remaining performances."
“Theatre Gigante’s HERETHEREWHERE is a whimsical, heartfelt, and humorous romp through the very crux of the human condition. How do we know where we’re going in life? Where do we start and what’s the destination? With highly original scoring and animations, this piece is a delight to all the senses.”
“This a must see! Limited run - this weekend only. I loved it!”

"Four strong voices came together to compose Theatre Gigante’s world premiere, HERETHEREWHERE ... The resulting production is absurd, challenging and comedic, suggesting the enduring inspiration of mid-20th century Existentialism but with 21st century technology including videos representing emotional states of mind (bewilderment?). 'There are so many lines that make you think about the bigger elements, many playful words of wisdom. It’s full of gems,' Kralj says." ---David Luhrssen
