All are welcome to our very special northern California event! Join us for an evening of celebrations with storytelling, art, music, and wine & cheese. Come meet some incredible people and share in some hopeful stories of how Francis and Clare have and continue to inspire us in our lives.

Dr. Darleen Pryds will be sharing from her book “Women of the Streets,” Jesse Manibusan will regale us with his music and storytelling, and Jen Norton Art Studio will offer her captivating artwork. We will also be honoring the great work of the Faithful Fools organization in San Francisco.

Featuring a reception with Dr. Darleen Pryds sharing stories of some early followers of Francis from her book “Women of the Streets,” music and storytelling from the popular musician Jesse Manibusan, and artwork by the much loved artist Jen Norton. We will also be honoring the work of Faithful Fools, an amazing street ministry in the Tenderloin District in San Francisco.

Thus we have begun our Lenten journey. May this year celebrating the 800th anniversary of Francis’ stigmata bring you a deeper understanding of your own wounds, healings, and new life.

We had our first (and awesome) in-person Listening & Learning gathering this weekend. Our keynote speaker, Br. Michael Perry, had some very inspirational and yet challenging words for us, the members of the Federation, to reflect on, as we live into the movement, into each other, into our future.

This week, we kicked off the second cohort of our Emergent Initiative. This great group of folks from all across the Franciscan family will participate in a series of 6 gatherings throughout the year, to pray, share, and build relationships across boundaries, denominations, and orders. And we will discuss what is emerging in the world, as a crucial need and sign of the times, to which we should respond as Franciscans.

Our first cohort began meeting almost 3 years ago, and from that process the Federation now has a number of exciting projects, networks, and groups. Oh, and we also found our two national office staff, Sara and Eunice! 😊 It was a fruitful endeavor, to say the least.

So with great excitement and hope, this new cohort has begun to meet and share about ourselves. Here are just a few of our self descriptions, in just 6 words.
