I’m working on a new Soent Brass song with Dan Schilling and Spencer Guerra at Lafx Recording Studios.
We’ve started working on a new song at Lafx Recording Studios in North Hollywood CA with Spencer Guerra.
Sons of War / Veteran (lyric video) Sons of War / Veteran: written: Dan Schilling, Duane Hibbard and Michael Parnin produced by: MIchael Parninrecorded and mixed by: Michael Parnin at Blacksoun...
This is the song I've been working on with Dan Schilling and Michael Parnin for awhile now. We added lyrics to the video because they are so power full and moving. Please give it a listen and let us know what you think.
A few final vocal fixes and the mandatory gong to make this song truly epic. We plan to have it mixed and streaming by the end of this month.
Day 7 at blAcksound. This is from last Sunday. Michael Parnin and grinded out the lead vocals. We were able to use LAFX Neumann U47 mic and it sounded amazing. Dinner was at the Luggage Room Pizzeria, again.
Day 6 at blAcksound. Today we had the pleasure of working with a true A-List session musician Michael Farrell. He played the C3 Hammond Organ, Wurlitzer, Horner Clavinet, grand piano on his Kurzeil keyboard (software BUT it sounded great, I think it was Logic samples) and some cool synth pads. This song keeps going to the next level. Dinner was at the Luggage Room Pizzeria, again. The food is outstanding and we can bring Calla with us.
Day 3-5 at blAcksound, sorry I missed a few days. We've been tracking rhythm guitars. Mike Quailly joined us for the acoustic night. He brought his 1957 Guild and a 1990's Martin 12-string, not in the picture. Parnin had a 1984 Martin at the studio and I brought my 2021 Gibson J50. You'll also notice a picture with Parnin and his blAck/Sub-D Frankenstein guitar. He laid down some heavy chunk-chunk and other great guitar parts. Dinners were as fallows: The Luggage Room Pizzeria, Mijares Mexican Restaurant, and HomeState on Lincoln. When we track at blAcksound we hit all the killer spots to eat.
Day 2 at blAcksound Sunday Feb 27. We recorded drums with Marco Duarte, he killed it. The song keeps jumping to the next level of greatness the more we work on it. Very long day. I was dead tired. Dinner was at The Luggage Room Pizzeria, always taste. Parnin knows all the killer spots to eat.
I’m back at blAcksound studios with Michael Parnin working on a song I wrote with Dan Schilling. We started writing it about a year ago. All I can say about it is that it’s Epic. Im very excited and will update everyone on the progress as we go. Plus there’s toons of killer places to eat near the studio in Pasadena. Our first stop was Plate 38!
