Are you eligible to compete at the BCA Pool League World Championships in Las Vegas?
No need to win your way into the BCA Pool League World Championship!
Your player eligibility is determined by two things:
🗓️ Weeks Played: Minimum of 8 weeks played in a single division session. (This helps to create greater competition and more engagement in your league.)
🥇Maximum Rating: BCA Pool League Events are reserved for amateur pool players only. Anyone can play in your league, but to compete in these events, players with a Fargo rating greater than 720 are not permitted. (This is for amateur league events only.)

ONCE AGAIN, IT'S TIME TO SEND A LOCAL TEAM TO VEGAS!!!
Spring 24 Trio's Playoff Schedule
Our playoff for this years first trip winner will be June 22nd, 12:00 Noon at The Q Bar in Valdosta. Everyone is welcome to come out and see what the hype is about!
The order of play will be:
1st Place "Night Riders" will play the Wildcard "Rack-N-Roll"
2nd Place "8-Ball Mafia" will play 3rd Place "Scrappers"
The winners from each of those matches will then face off to play for the Grand Prize Trip To Vegas.
All playoff matches will use the National Tournament 3-Man format race to 11 (Scoresheet in Group Files section).
Just because I am not there doesn't mean Officer Troy isn't watching!
I sincerely appreciate all the calls of support! Rest assured, the League will not miss a beat and play will continue at the new locations!
Lake Park Billiard’s Academy
I'm not sure why you would tell a player to ask a different League Operator what they pay out, especially in a post trying to get a competing league started; but here goes!
First lets look at last year, where the Valdosta BCAPL ran 2 sessions, one with 7 teams (6 that finished) and one with 9 teams. Between both sessions, the League income was $4,530 for the year. 5 Players actually made the trip to Vegas and each of those players received $800 to offset those expenses. In addition, their $500 Entry fee was paid for the BCAPL (BCA Pool League) World Championship. The remaining $30 was applied to all the rest of the Leagues Expenses.
This sessions winning Team WILL win a trip as Holly Sirmans has already posted, so I will just cover the money side of your statement: Since this session has 11 teams, the payouts will be based on the full league pay table. That means: The First Place Team will receive $3,000 for the Trip to VEGAS the end of February/ beginning of March 2025. The $500 entry fee into the BCAPL World Championship 8-Ball Teams event will be paid, and the Second place team will receive $300. The 1st through 3rd place teams in the regular session will receive Plaques. Any remaining funds (up to 20%) will go to League Operations. Included in League operations is Host location signage, host packets and recruiting materials. An additional use of these funds will also be begin mid-year. We will be starting our new referral program! New players referred by current players EACH get entered into a drawing to win a New Lucasi Cue! (Full details soon!)
Once again, I'm not sure why my name was brought into your league startup post, but let me know if you have any more questions.

Some comparisons were made public recently, so I figured I would put my thoughts out there.
Q: Why should you play in a sanctioned League?
A: Sanctioned leagues provide a League structure, National Event(s), and a pathway to get there. Speaking for the Valdosta BCAPL, Paying the $25 Sanction fee qualifies you to enter ANY BCAPL (BCAPL = BCA Pool League) Event at the National Level after you have played the minimum number of matches in a Sanctioned Session. By the Way, that Sanction fee covers any BCA Pool League Session you enter that year. Want more? You get full access to the FargoRate Premium App. You can see every match you have played as well as statistics from the first day you received a FargoRate. This app alone costs $12.99 a year for non-members. Then there is the BCAPL Scoring App. The easiest score keeping app I have seen or heard about. It even automatically reports your scores to the League Operator as soon as you have an internet connection!
After you have read the above, you know what the money is for.
Lets talk about the main reason to sign up for a Sanctioned League. They provide a ruleset. Imagine playing in a League where someone decides to wipe their stick across the table because they don't like the layout. Does a non-sanctioned league have a rule to cover that? Probably not, so what happens? Someone gets to make a decision based on how they feel that day. Hope you're on their good side! Of course, that's an exaggeration and would never happen...but what if it did?
The Valdosta BCAPL runs you about 54 cents per week of play through the year. Pretty good value if you ask me.
Speaking of value, I think I will post about table time next.
If I had to pick the best match from yesterday, it would hands down be The 3 Bankers VS Pocket Rockets. It was a race to 11, and these guys took it all the way. The winner knew they would move on to the next round, and the loser knew they would be out. It came down to the last ball, the 8-ball, on the 21st game, and BOTH players got a shot at it! Neither of these teams ended up winning the trip to Vegas this year but with heart like that, I expect both teams to be regulars in the playoffs!
A hard fought second place goes to
"THE PREDATORS"
also out of AJ's!!
CONGRATS TO
"THE NO NAME CREW"
OUT OF AJ'S BAR & GRILL!
THEY GOIN' TO VEGAS BABY!

Guys and Gals,
I am having an issue getting commitments from a few players/teams. If you know someone on the fence or wanting to play, let me know.
We are playing the first round tonight. Some players that have hesitated to commit might show up to play, which will help eliminate some of the issue.
Some teams may have byes tonight that will have to be made up when the bye is replaced. IF your team is scheduled for a bye tonight, you do not have to submit your Sanction fees or weekly payment until you are rescheduled or the bye is "locked in".

This was 5 years ago at Steinway billiards. It really makes me sad when I see pool rooms close. Steinway Billiards in New York is a historic room that has had just about every champion walk through their doors. I remember being so excited to go there for the World Pool series. I made so many memories on that trip and will never forget it. The food was amazing as well.
Sadly i see more and more pool rooms closing these days and not a ton opening. As pool players it’s our job to keep them alive. Pay your time, tip the bartenders, order food there if you can.
It’s sad to hear about its closing, but I’m glad i have memories to look back on. 🙂
