With all that has happened please keep in mind not all people are there to help you. As unfortunate as it is that this has to be said there are people out here taking advantage of the situation. Her are some red flags before you hire someone to help you during this time.
1) If they won’t provide you with an estimate. A verbal quote can always be changed. If they can provide a verbal, they can put it on a piece of paper.
2) If the estimate is including 8 hour minimum charges.
3) If the contractor starts talking about emergency service charges.
4) If the contractor comes in stating “don’t worry about the estimate, we will work with the insurance company.”
5) Make sure they are licensed and insured. Not just stated but they will provide this info if they are legit.
Please be careful. Make sure you take pictures of how many men they had, the equipment used and how many hours they are there. There are a lot of good companies doing everything the can to help the right way.
