Are any of your battens smiling at you? It’s not because they are happy… Too much weight on a pipe batten at specific points and insufficient spacing of lift lines can cause this kind of warping and may cause the pipe to fail.

The University of Wisconsin - Madison Department of Theater and Drama is hosting its Technical Theater for Performing Arts Teachers Summer Institute, which includes a new course on theater safety. Theater Safety (Course #619 Lec 001) covers common and uncommon safety issues in theaters and event spaces, physical and emotional safety in the space including fire codes, building codes, life safety codes, OSHA and schools, chemical usage/storage, crowd management, weather and events and much more.
