Tuesday, November 30th is Giving Tuesday, and we are well aware that you have so many deserving organizations to pick from when deciding where you make a donation. All we ask is that you consider including Young Hearts for Life in your giving. YH4L is a 501c3 funded entirely by philanthropy. Your donation will help us achieve our mission: • Help us prevent another unnecessary death from an undiagnosed heart condition • Help educate the community about sudden death • Support families who have lost a child to an undiagnosed heart condition • Help schools and sports teams prepare an emergency action plan to deal with cardiac emergencies Here is a recent letter we received from a grateful mother. “As parents, we often read something from school and say ‘yes, I need to do that.’ We get busy and things get pushed to the side. We are all busy. I am going to ask you to STOP right now and register your child for a screening with Young Hearts for Life (YH4L) – I bet you don’t realize how important it is to do this, I didn’t realize until I got that call. Emma had been the picture of health. Very athletic, fit, she had run track and played club volleyball. We always did the sports physicals and she had always passed. Now I know that a sports physical will only detect 4% of cases which can lead to sudden cardiac death. I never imagined that Emma was one of those students who had gone undetected- that is until she was screened by YH4L. The afternoon of the screening, I received a call from the nurse at YH4L. She explained what was found on Emma’s ECG - Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome (WPW). I never expected to be one of the parents to get this call. It truly was hard to believe. Emma went on to have a surgical procedure to correct WPW. She is doing great, attending college, and studying nursing. I can’t begin to thank Young Hearts for Life for offering these free lifesaving screenings. We would not have known Emma was at risk for sudde

It was great to have Andria join us at today's screening. We first met her 11 years ago under much different circumstances. So glad to hear that Alex is doing well. Thank you Andria!
