This is the blueprint for living the 2 greatest commandments

08/21/2022

A Vow one can make in their search for Discipleship in The Way of Jesus.

1) My life must reflect the two Commandments of Jesus, "And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these."

2) My actions are greater than my words, I shall act more and speak when words are used only to further reflect Jesus.

3) I will seek the poor within my own family first, to those who are in need of love and compassion, only after this obligation is made do I go outside my family to seek to heal the poor in heart, the poor in spirit, and the poor in status.

May the spirit of Jesus aid me in this quest

Amen

The cry of the poor is the greatest political issue in the bible.
“Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he will also cry out, but shall not be heard"- Proverbs 21:13

Yeshua's Teachings
and the Church

Something has gone terribly wrong.
In the first century, Yeshua taught his followers to love all people, make peace, forgive, and serve others. He taught them that God in them would guide them into truth and brotherhood, and that they would be able to do wonderful things if they sought and understood the Holy Spirit. He told them the Kingdom of God was spread out upon the face of the earth; it was in them.

Yeshua never suggested his followers find God in a church. However, a church developed almost from the first days after Yeshua was gone, and the church throughout the ensuing two millennia has been characterized by exclusivity, violence, condemnation, hatred, war, church hierarchies, and a focus on listening to the church, not to the Holy Spirit in each person. The church has become synonymous with God. That isn't what Yeshua intended.

In order to follow The Prophet Jesus, we must go through the Exodus from the church and to Jesus.

Pauline Christianity Yeshua before 30 C.E. is dedicated to helping people understand Yeshua's teachings entirely separate from the church that grew up soon after his death, calling him Jesus or Christ. The site is non-denominational and non-religious. It contains only the teachings of Yeshua from the gospels and Gnostic...

You can follow The Way of Jesus without organized hierarchical church entities that flatter themselves with splendid buildings at the expense of the poor, the homeless, and the least among us

I have come to understand the difference between a religion about Jesus and the faith of Jesus. Jesus came to reinvent Judaism not abandon it. He came to dismantle belief in an institution and challenged the Jews of his time to embrace a Judaism of the soul not of the Temple, guidance by way of the Holy Spirit and not by men.
Baptism by John was Jesus' message to turn from the worldly and concentrate on the spiritual. That is what repentance means, to turn from one thing and to turn to another way.
The Prophet Jesus taught us directly as to the Way, we do not need anyone else to interpret that for us, the Holy Spirit will do that for us, remembering that the tree is known by its fruit and not by what it is called or by what orchard it grows in but instead what does it give to the world....

I believe the establishment of "The Church" was actually to be a unique and individual way of living the faith, not an institution which, even with its buildings, bastardized the words of Jesus. The promise is 2 or more, not 10 as was prescribed in the Jewish law into which he was born.

The lack of numbers to establish a minyan tells me that Jesus did not want us to re-create the hierarchy of the Temple, but instead be introspective and establish a culture of compassion, love, understanding, and defense and service of and to the weak among us. We were never meant to be a carbon copy of the oppressive Temple priests but rather go among the people as invisible priests showing the love of God through our actions.

2 Books that I recommend are:
The Complete Jesus, by Ricky Alan Mayotte and
The Jefferson Bible.

I wanted to share with you how I believe in Jesus in order to begin a dialogue about how you all see him.

I believe that Jesus was a great Prophet, one who taught us a way a faith that is active in the world, showing compassion and mercy to the weak and left behind, and challenging the injustices in the world that cause the suffering we see all around us.

I believe he taught us to become "Messiahs" in the world after all he said this.."Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father."

WE can do even greater! This is the great commission as I see it, not to convert but to inspire because what people are inspired by they gravitate to also.
