Blending bold elements of nature into distinct sections for entertainment, this cottage garden landscape design includes a waterfall and a creek that passes under the path, eventually spilling over the seat wall into a wading pool that invites enjoyment of the garden with all the senses. Our hardscape design-build team also installed a fire pit and built a curving low stone wall around it, providing beautiful shape to the layout of the garden as well as ample seating for large gatherings.

We created a garden that has the feel of a country estate. Using large-format tiles, we installed a wide path that gently curves along a lush lawn under dappled light to separate entertaining areas. An elegant, covered wooden structure is ideal for small gatherings. We also created a private garden space that opens off the Master Bedroom. 🍃

Creating this comfortable contemporary space with intimacy and charisma combined this couple’s need for a place to entertain with protection from the harsher valley climate they live in. The pergola offers shade on warm summer days as well a center point for gathering with family and friends. Seating areas invite enjoyment of the sounds of the water fountain. To expand the functionality of the space, the custom fire pit can be covered and used as additional dining area.

This outdoor living space includes two separate areas connected by the curving beauty of a bold, meandering path. Dining and lounging areas are replete with luxurious comforts, and both are easily accessible from the home. Stones with hues of gray and pink offset the vibrant greens of the foliage and outline the timber steps. Wandering to the top of the multi-level landscaping rewards visitors with dazzling views of the entire garden. Planting plans include pops of color in every corner of the yard to keep this garden looking bright and crisp year-round.

Tranforming the hillsides of Northern California can be one of the most challenging tasks. In this large backyard we were able to convert the entire hillside into a contemporary masterpiece. Terracing the hillside and adding long-lasting timber steps allow this family to access their entire property. Views from the huge entertainment patio invite a moment for peace and quiet as well as enjoyment of the combination of the Mediterranean style house blended with the bold contemporary hardscaping and patio furniture.
