This summer, AGM will host its 123rd National Contest and Convention at the Airport Marriott in Columbus, Ohio. Events begin on Thursday July 11 with age and NAIC and Convertion qualitlfications - yes, that's right, another opportunity to qualify for the finals on Sunday the 14th. Friday and Saturday, compete in Test List, Length of Study, Duets, Duos and Pop events. Join the convention orchestra or choir. There is so much to do and experience at a Nationals contest. When students have a goal to work towards, they pull up their socks, focus, and practice more. We all need a goal to strive for, big or small, and that's why the American Guild of Music is holding a live online contest. Sunday, February 4th, is POP Sunday! Everything POP, all divisions, all instruments including vocal self accompaniments. If competition is not your thing, you can sign up for an evaluation and receive commentary from one of our esteemed adjudicator. The great thing about evaluations is that you can play any genre. We had a wonderful 46th annual Great Lakes Regional Contest and the awards ceremony is about to begin.
When young musicians are given the opportunity to perform and compete, the valuable lessons acquired from the preparation to the final performance are beyond measure.
