Putting on the finishes touches can really make your videos pop.
I generally start off just laying everything out in a timeline. time it to music. to the pacing in my mind and how folks should read it. I know what the end result will be in my head, visually.
Even this end result is about 5 layers deep of finishing touches. From the tape sligthly wiggling, to the layer of texture, all are just peices to make things pop.
The Home Team loves to give back to our community. We sponsored a hole for the Northwest Louisiana FCA.
This year the challenge was to put a golf ball into a dumpster.
A lot of fun to support a good cause.
Feel free to donate to a good cause:

Doing the first thing can sometimes be the hardest. We have endless distractions around us. Little hearts on instagram calling our name. Thumbs up on Facebook. OOOhhhh look! A new article on productivity! Let me read about that first.
Guilty as charged. I tend to fill my head up with lots of knowledge. But what good is knowledge if we do not execute? So I am in a season of ex*****on right now. Focusing on just a couples things in my personal and professional life. I have to remind myself constantly not to consume too much information. Just do the next thing. Pick something to focus on and do it. And add on to it.
Creating some How-to videos. Here is an outtake.
My plan over the next few weeks is to have a steady stream of content here, to teach, to learn, to add value to your creative lives as you navigate
I feel inspired and have lots to share.
Will be sharing in pieces as I things get done. Stay tuned!
Feel free to engage, leave me some questions, or just enjoy.
Here is something we put together back in December for Centenary College of Louisiana. It was a fun quick shoot capturing an evening honoring some of Centenary's best. It was a pleasure serving our alma mater!
This is from our Mt. Sinai edit, which we will be posting later this week! But first some BTS stuff.
It's not direct storytelling, BUT it does add to the overall production value and evokes emotion. It seperates a good video from a GREAT video.
Finding white balance is the foundation to getting a great colorgrade. Balancing your shots makes it more seamless from cut to cut, thus not breaking engagement with the viewers mind. They can stay focused on the story instead of wondering why one shot "feels" different than the last shot.
Bringing you a new series of storytelling protip.
1: find interesting people to interview. This can make or break a story. It can put you in snoosville or keep a viewers attention.
It's like listening to Bill Nye talk about science, Alton Brown talk about food, or Malcolm Gladwell talk about obscure and boring academic papers. It's how they respond and tell you about these things that keep it interesting.
Do you have any examples of a great interview?
A good story will hook your audience. It's not a hard sell. It's creating an inviting atmosphere for your customer to join the journey.
To feel something for your product or service when they see it.
A good story creates fans and loyalty. We all want to be part of something. A shared experience.
What's one product you get excited about everytime they drop content?
A skilled craftsman is someone we trust. Like an architect, a painter, even a good businessman, we trust they know how to get the job done. They have years of experience honing thier expertise.
A good storyteller is no different. They can find the story, pull it out, and present it in a way that connects with an audience.
Storytelling is a craft.
That great stories have you encountered lately?
What is storytelling to you?
It's craft, it's emotion, it's spiritual. It's how we connect and relate to other humans and to the world.
It is a driving force in changing hearts and minds.
Story, above all else in the world of creativity, is THE most important thing.
Stay tuned for more of my reflections on storytelling.

Beyond graphic design, motion design allows for elements of story telling, to engage an audience and caputre attention.
Switching things up!
I love watching process videos on instagram.
So we threw together a quick animation instead of a carousel and captured the process.
Will post the animation later today. Stay tuned!
What is motion design?
Pulled from the internet: motion design is a discipline that applies graphic design principles to filmmaking and video production through use of animation and visual effects.
That's a great start! But it is so much more than that and hard to really put your finger on unless you are part of the motion design community.
Over the next week or so, we are going to explore what motion design is, how it's effective, and how you can use it in your business to engage, entertain, and educate customers, fans, and causes.
Here are some stills from a project we wrapped on in the past month. We are so fortunate to get to tell a precious story like this.
This is Mount Sinai’s Pediatric Visiting Doctors and Complex Care Program in New York.
The story of two disabled young girls and their families.
Their real life struggles.
And how this program is helping them overcome.
Stay tuned for the video release!
