What a lovely day it turned out to be for the So fun to pop in with my own baby in tow this year. We’re headed out for naptime but the event is still ongoing until 4pm today, 5/19. Thanks to MFSB for hosting such a great event!
See you there on Wednesday morning!!
Mama’s gotta eat too! Thanks, Baby. You make a good table. 😂 Happy chest/breastfeeding (and pizza eating) to you all.
A very special welcome to the newest addition to the Pathways family, midwife Katrina’s new baby boy Rhys, born at home over the weekend. Maternity leave has now officially begun! Availability for new clients begins March 2024. ❤️
While we unfortunately can’t make it to the Baltimore Birth Festival 2023 this year, it’s sure to be an amazing day. Highly recommend a visit as it’s sure to be filled with fun - and is also a great opportunity to support AIMM as we fight for more inclusive laws in Maryland!
Please support AIMM!

Celebrating a busy few months of babies, births, prenatals, postpartums, and travel with an April snowstorm in Utah! Wishing you all happy days (and warmer days if that’s your thing!).
Another week, another couple drinks from ‘Good Drinks’! The ‘jardín verde’ (first photo) apparently tastes just like a gin and tonic. As gin and tonics have never been quite my thing, I much preferred the ‘Staycation’ - a sweet tiki-style drink made with Pandan syrup!
The most recent edition of has an article all about Traditional Chinese Medicine and postpartum nutrition. I felt super inspired and made the chicken broth with soba noodles as well as the dumplings. So yummy and so nutritious!
Years ago, one of my clients said that something she missed the most in her pregnancy was being able to have fun drinks when out at a restaurant. Restaurants are doing much better these days with serving NA cocktails - but if your go-to place doesn’t, you can always make them at home! Here’s a super yummy coconut milk cocktail from the book Good Drinks. Stay tuned to see if I’m actually able to ‘cook through’ the book fully this year. 🤣
Please come and support a worthy cause as we work to expand access to midwifery in Maryland!
Birth by the beach!
Tis the season for gift buying and gift giving! Please consider buying one (or multiple) of these t-shirts to support the Association of Independent Midwives of Maryland (AIMM). Right now we are working really hard to change the rules around VBAC and we are always in need of money for the lobbyist!

What a beautiful night for a birthday party.
The longer I am at a birth, the bigger my hair gets - but welcome baby boy!!
Postpartum home visits are my favorite!
Last birth of August complete! Time for a reset in the mountains.
Nighttime is baby time!
Expanding my lending library with some excellent new books focused on the mental health aspects of parenthood, both the funny and the intense. Take home message? This is hard and you are not alone.

For some clients, prenatal prep looks like herbal nutrition. I always recommend NORA tea for nutritional support but sometimes clients take it a step further. Check out this well-stocked dry herb pantry!

My favorite part of home visits is being welcomed into lives, into homes, into families. My second favorite part? Unexpected bread baking days.
When your OB mom comes to town, the bonding activity of the day is mommy and me IVs. 🤣
Feeling really spoiled and lucky today after a beautiful homebirth last night complete with boxes of snacks and gift baskets! Such a lovely little surprise and so special to be part of the beginning of this new little life.
Come out and see us at the Baltimore Birth Festival!
