Birthing Justice NBC4 News Feature
Thank you to NBC4 Washington and Molette Green for featuring the Women in the Room Productions’ documentary, Birthing Justice, and Community of Hope’s work to reduce fatal outcomes for Black women and their children. Thank you for acknowledging the fight to save lives that our teams and families are in every day. As Ebony Marcelle, our Director of Midwifery, states, she hears “constantly from families who just don’t want to die and just want to be safe.” The film, which will be released in April, features Community of Hope’s team and comprehensive care approach while raising critical awareness about Black maternal health in DC and across the country.

Happy MLK JR. day!
“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Won’t you share your greatness with Community of Hope by mentoring a young person in our housing program, creating beautiful art with children at our family shelter, or hosting a game night at our adult shelter? Join volunteers like Evan, whose grace and love are an asset to creating a happy and healthy environment for our clients. Contact Lauren Cranman, [email protected], to see how you can join our volunteer family!
