Another phenomenal annual meeting of the U.S. - Spain Council, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, of which CDDA/IQLatino is a permanent member for the critical importance it has to our programming.
Business, social, political and government leaders of both countries met and addressed critical issues and explored opportunities in the bilateral relation, the Atlantic relation, and the role the United States and Spain can have to lead Ibero-American countries to advance democracy, human rights and economic development with equity.
Many known faces to our Latinos in Foreign Policy Initiative participanted, such as the Governor of New Mexico Michelle Lujan Grisham, Congressman Joaquin Castro, DNC Vice-Chair Henry Muñoz, U.S. Ambassador to Spain Julissa Reynoso, Deputy Secretary of the State Department José Fernandez, our Founder, Senior Counselor to the U.S. Department of Commerce Leopoldo Martinez, and Estuardo Rodriguez, President of the Friends of the American Latino Museum; among the Council members and speakers.
And of course, all participants proud of Senator Ben Ray Lujan for his leadership as Honorary Co-Chair of the U.S.-Spain Council. Kudos to his team: Carlos Sanchez, Ingrid Pino and Catherine Duran for an amazing two days of networking, conversations around cybersecurity, democracy in the Americas, energy transition, trade and investment; and arts, culture and cinematography.
