The Maryland Jockey Club is bringing back the Art of Racing contest this year! This contest is an opportunity for amateur and professional artists to showcase their artwork. Artists must create a two-dimensional piece of artwork that brings to life a visual representation of the Preakness. The winning artist will receive a $4,000 prize, tickets to the Preakness Stakes, and more! Our Story
Fonzworks Designs is a small design/multimedia company which started with a few small projects from clients for numerous design services and now has grown to a higher level. This company focuses on graphic design projects and is a black-owned business. Collaborations for projects are welcome at all times. The founder and CEO, Mr. Alfonzo Garner Jr., first began the company as a college student back in 2007. Mr. Garner started his design studies at Prince George's Community College where he acquired his Associate of Applied Science from the Visual Communication/Graphic Design program in December 2008 and later received a Certification in Illustration in August 2009. Feeling the need to continue his studies, Mr. Garner pursued a Bachelors of Science with a concentration in Graphic Design degree from Towson University which he received in May 2011. In the fall of 2011, Mr. Garner returned to Prince George's Community College and received another Certification in Animation/Hypermedia. He now chooses to utilize his skills for special projects and to make a difference with his visual work.
