Tutu Academy now on 🎉
We playfully wondered what Degas’ work would look like if we brought it to life today. The result is a story popping with the painter’s gorgeous coral hues mixed with Hong Kong’s heritage red—all juxtaposed with vivid shades of juicy jade, like the head-toe painted alien, that explode with extraterrestrial contrast.

Today, we’re revisiting our work for Star Wars where we brought fashion to life in a traveling exhibit for the venerable Smithsonian Institution. Through the “Power of the Costume,” we developed a comprehensive prospectus to generate interest and sell the Star Wars traveling exhibit to museums nationwide. What better way to market a fashion exhibit than by creating a Star Wars fashion magazine? The content of the magazine covered all aspects of the new exhibit, but in a very editorial manner, complete with advertisements, travel tips, and style dont’s.
The book included galactic advertisements, space travel tips and sci-fi fashion faux pas. To do justice to the stellar display, our oversized, tabloid style format featured eye-catching typography and custom illustrations created from the Lucas Film archives. Dreamed up by Design Army, the prospectus shined a light on all aspects of the new exhibit. Measuring 11×17 with thread-sewn binding and foil stamping, the result was a fantastical editorial publication with custom illustrations, typography and design.

Lightform Foundation by Morphe doesn’t just cover skin—it enhances its natural radiance, hence the name “Lightform.” As a skin-enhancing complexion product, the film and campaign needed to accentuate the product benefit, while also bringing to life the “Unapologetically Me” brand ethos.
For this film we focused on the skin and the wide range of shades (36 in total), accomplished by a diverse and dynamic group of talent. Each talent sings a line from a custom rendition of the iconic song “Beautiful Dreamer” - and they sing it in their own skin.
A huge thank you to our clients and all the amazing team members take made this campaign come to life!
NEW WORK ! 💡🫦 ’ new brand film gathered a tribe-like collective of talent who embrace an unapologetic ethos. The film features a variety of musical talents from recording artist and producer Delacey, producer Lucy Healey, rapper Tommy Genesis Daniela Garda and Lele Pons .
Each talent was assigned a line for the film, singing together as one, purely confident in their own skin and bound by the idea of being “perfectly oneself”.
A huge thank you to our clients and all the amazing team members that made this campaign come to life!

“I would make “Personal Branding” a requisite in school—as important as s*x education.”
Fast Company talked to Design Army Co-Founder & CCO Pum Lefebure about what designers wish they could REALLY redesign in 2024Being a modern teenager is hard work, and our digital spaces and the education system aren’t making it any easier. As our children face increased anxiety and depression, “personal branding” needs to be a requisite in school, and it’s just as critical as s*x education. Using design principles, I would teach kids that “brand” means being true to yourself. And that self-worth goes far beyond social media.

DEFYING GRAVITY WITH ELECTROPOP'S RISING STARS
Shaed is one of the hottest acts in electro-pop, rising to national fame on the haunting lyrics and otherworldly production of their sophomore EP Melt. Their hit song ‘Trampoline’ reached #1 on the Billboard Alternative charts and was featured in Apple’s 2018 MacBook Air campaign.
In collaboration with director Max Haben, Design Army conceived, art directed, and produced the official music video for Shaed’s hit single ‘Trampoline.’ We found inspiration in the song’s hypnotic verses and created a stark all-white canvas for lead singer Chelsea Lee’s emotional journey.
Chelsea and multi-instrumentalists Spencer and Max Ernst become living statues—existing in neither nightmare nor dream, enveloped in a cloud of loss, love, dread, and longing.
As the whistles enter at the end of the second chorus, Chelsea floats slowly in mid-air—an effect achieved by putting an actual trampoline in front of a 25-foot cyclorama wall in our studio, ATYOLK.
