Our team will continue to serve our long-standing clients, only now with with bigger, better capabilities as an integrated marketing studio.

As we mark our 20-year anniversary, we reflect back on our history. We were founded as a small team of designers and web developers driven by deep-rooted client relationships and a passion for our work. Today we're proud to continue that legacy but with a partner of equals and friends that shares our mission, vision and values. The Stevens Initiative is an international leader in virtual exchange bringing young people from diverse places together to collaborate and connect through everyday technology. 

Inspired by Christopher Stevens, the former U.S. Ambassador to Libya who devoted his life to building bridges through open and respectful dialogue, the Initiative has touched nearly 75,000 young people in 17 Middle East and North African countries since its inception in 2015.

We are honored to contribute in even the smallest way to the Initiative's mission with and custom Impact Reports developed in both English and Arabic.

Kimberly is our Office Manager / Controller who has been with the Jake Group for 9 (!!!) years. In her role she works closely with the rest of the team to ensure the smooth functioning of all company processes—such as day-to-day needs of the staff or company financials, as well as ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner.

Some favorite memories of the past 9 years include celebrating the holidays with the team and introducing them to her newborn baby, the beauty of Georgetown in the snow (lovely even on a weekend playing catchup on work), and the way the Jake Group team (and clients) came together as a family during the onset of the pandemic. ❤️

Kimberly and her family now live just outside of Charleston, South Carolina and love being just 10 minutes from the beach 🏖, the slowness of Southern living, and being close to family. And despite living in the south, a family tradition of rooting for the Yankees still persists! ⚾️

Did you know?
- Kimberly LOVES to cook!👩‍🍳 When not working on Jake stuff, you'll find her in the kitchen taking pictures and videos of the many recipes she's cooking up. As an Integrated Health and Wellness Coach on the side, Kimberly enjoys creating healthy recipes in the kitchen to share with friends, family, and clients.
- She is a certified Reiki Master and Health Coach. A life goal is to have a holistic wellness center where people can access massage therapy, Yoga, counseling, childcare, and other healing modalities such as Reiki and Qi-gong in a spa Zen-like setting. 🙏

In 🎧 rotation:
An eclectic music taste with anything from Lauren Daigle, Damien Jurado, Bebel Giberto, Walker Hayes, Garth Brooks, Andrea Bocelli to Disney’s best play mix. Having 3 children under 8 means Disney somehow always finds its way into rotation.

Say hi to Carlos! 👋

Carlos is a Web Developer who has been with us at the Jake Group for just shy of two years. He works with the rest of the development team to make sure that every website we build not only looks great, but also works great. His role gives him the opportunity to work in several phases of the development process; you might find Carlos writing code for a new component or configuring a server for our next website launch.

A standout moment for him thus far was building and launching applytovetschool.org.

"It was my first project as a lead developer. Receiving all the support and trust from the rest of the team was amazing."

Carlos is originally from Costa Rica, the land of “Pura Vida”. He grew up in San José, Costa Rica’s capital, and now lives in Germantown, Maryland with his wife ("she’s the best"). They love to go for short drives, or visit their local ice cream shop for homemade ice cream. 🍦

Fun fact(s): Carlos is incredibly multi-talented and loves working with his hands. The man can tile a floor, build furniture or work on a car one weekend and make a dress or a jacket the next. You might also find him playing the bass or camping. Bonus fun fact is that he can make a costume in a pinch. Some creations include The Pink Panther, Santa Claus and El Chapulín Colorado, Latin America’s super hero. Carlos is a good man to know around Halloween time! 🎃

"I love alternative rock, especially from the 90s and early 2000s, but I also like to keep room in my playlist for some reggae and house music. Some of my favorite bands are STP, The Cure, Pearl Jam, Joy Division, New Order, Muse, The Chemical Brothers and Arcade Fire."
