Summer is full of bright skies and wearing sunglasses with UV400 protection is the vision health fashion accessory of the season. Each wave on the pool's surface resembles a mirror reflecting the sun's rays. We at POB want you to enjoy your summer outdoors practicing vision safety before you dive back into the water.

Smart Vision Health Practices To Watrch Fireworks
It is amazing how we become wide-eyed children staring into the night sky during a great fireworks display. The gigantic bursts make us all look up, but the lasting glares from the fireworks can be detrimental to your sight long after the display ends. Tonight, wear sunglasses and occasionally look away from the show. Doing these easy vision health practices can help preserve your sight.

Happy Father's Day 2024
Father's Day is a time to celebrate the one in our lives who guides and nurtures us with his love and wisdom. Along with getting him another tie this year, be sure to remind him (or yourself) to schedule his next eye exam as soon as possible. June is Men's Health Month and POB wants to make sure your favorite guy can see all the wonderful memories he will make with his family.

2024 Men's Health Empowerment Expo
This past weekend, POB had the wonderful pleasure of serving the Greater Alexandria community for the 2024 Men’s Health Empowerment Expo at the Charles Houston Recreation Center. Providing onsite glaucoma screenings for those in attendance is another example of how POB looks to ensure that everyone in our region receives the vision care they need. Thanks to Inova Fairfax Hospital for facilitating a great dialogue about mental health. Special thanks to Col. Jim Paige of Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria 21 and Wes Hall of Monumental Sports Network for giving their valuable insight on the day and why maintaining eye health is important. We look forward to working with everyone again very soon.
