Allow me to reintroduce myself...my name is Ajani Simmons

I'm a branding/portrait photographer at Ajani Truth Photography and owner of (IG) a production, meeting, and event rental space in Occoquan, VA.

So much of myself carries over into my photography work.

I asked my love to describe me and this is what she said.

◇◇◇"Extra emotional" - Ha! I definitely feel the feels. I think it's healthy to cry. My empathy helps me connect with my photography clients.

◇◇◇"Fight the patriarchy" - Most of my portrait clients are women and I would feel pretty wack if I wasn't an advocate for them and others.

◇◇◇"Art is important" - This is self-explanatory but the world would be bland and less further along without art. Authoritative figures in the past and present typically would go after art (artists) first. Protect art at all costs.

◇◇◇"Think everyone should be creative" - I mean....YES. If I can help people with that then I will.

◇◇◇"Child mind" - I love to laugh and approach life with a child-like curiosity. It's also helpful for problem-solving which is a big part of being a photographer.

◇◇◇"Solarium" - I needed an explanation for this. She said that I'm warm and like to shine my light on people to help them grow. I can dig it!

My sister added
◇◇◇"You like bringing people together" - This one is funny because I'm an introvert but I love connecting all of my smart, creative, and compassionate friends. That's why we created the Kindred event.

My non-photography interests: ultrarunning, vegan cooking (tacos...yum),making music, houseplants, fungi, horror movies, snake identification, nature, and animals. Plus just learning

I LOVE OUR SPACE

So happy to be able to host this lovely couple and their family and friends who came to witness their union.

I wasn't planning on being their photographer but glad I was there because they would have been without professional photos.

The space looked great because we were still set up for Kindred.
