Ali, my insanely strong friend, is currently undergoing a single mastectomy surgery to finally kick cancer's ass all together!
I thought it would lift her spirits to see everyone comment on this picture a picture of YOU wearing the fundraiser earrings!! If not, some words of love & encouragement for her would be greatly appreciated!🩷

I really debated on whether or not I was going to share my story, but if this helps even one person, I'll be happy...

All of January, I had this voice I just couldn't shake. An incessant urge that kept telling me to get my thyroid checked. I have no history of any thyroid issues, but there was a visible lump on the outside of my neck. No pain, no symptoms, just my gut telling me something was wrong. I went to urgent care (because I didn't even have a primary doctor, I avoid going at all costs) and they did some blood work. My thyroid levels were in perfect range. Thankfully, the wonderful doctors got me in for further testing. After multiple ultrasounds and a fine needle aspiration (7 needles to the neck🫠) they found a 3.8cm mass on my thyroid. February 26th, I got the call...papillary thyroid carcinoma. Cancer, the one thing no one wants to hear. Thankfully this type of cancer is one of the easiest to treat. Dr. Pruzinsky at MercyOne in Waterloo spent so much time going over my case and truly made me feel SO much better about my situation. Two weeks ago today, she went in and removed my whole thyroid. Surgery went really well and there was minimal pain. She dissected several lymph nodes, and they were all free of cancer and one was benign. Healing has been a very smooth process and thankfully I don't have to take the radioactive iodine pill! I'm so incredibly grateful for every single person that helped me along this journey, God truly blessed me with the best angels here on earth.🤍

If you learn anything from this, I hope you learn to ALWAYS trust your gut, your intuition, whatever you call that feeling that comes from within. Listen and take care of yourself.🤍
