We recently roughed in a 2nd floor bathroom in a customer's home. There was no existing bathroom, so all plumbing was new. You'll notice a Kohler Carrier in the wall, this is for a wall hung toilet. 🚽

Check out this project from last week. Customer smelled sewage when doing laundry in the basement. After assessing the situation, it turned out that her pipes were pitched incorrectly. Not knowing this, the customer poured Draino down her kitchen sink while having drainage issues, causing her galvanized piping to rot out.

‼️PSA: Draino is a corrosive chemical, meaning it eats away at not just the clogged material in your pipe, but the pipe itself as well. Plumbers do not recommend using it.‼️

We recently did a water service emergency repair. We worked with Country Water Well and Septic LLC to help with the hydro excavation. A hydro excavation consists of a machine that acts as a big vacuum with a high pressure hose to excavate around utilities and small areas. Once the hydro excavation was done, we were able to dig the rest of the way to replace a leaking pipe and back fill with stone.

Spring is here, and as the weather changes from cold and snowy to mild and rainy, we get more calls for flooding.
Basements are especially susceptible to flooding during spring. This is because melting snow saturates the ground, which causes the water table to rise above the basement floor.

To prevent flooding and protect your home, follow these helpful tips:

1️⃣ Make sure your sump pump is in working order. A functional sump pump is crucial for protecting your basement from rising water levels. If your sump pump needs to be inspected or replaced, give us a call!

2️⃣Check your basement walls and floor for cracks.

3️⃣Make sure your hose bib is in working order. At this time of year, they tend to not work or leak.

4️⃣The most important thing to note is to keep drainage clear, such as your gutters, free of debris. The melting snow creates lots of water run-off.

💡Fun fact: each cubic foot of snow creates 4.5 quarts of run-off water.💡
