Was very sad to see Kelly Moore go out of business
I had been doing business with them since 1979. They had three locations in Santa Cruz County and stores in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Seaside and Monterey. All places I do business in, making really it convenient. I feel bad for the many employees, but I see some have been hired by Sherwin-Williams and Dunn Edwards. speaking of Dunn Edwards, they have opened stores in the old Kelly Moore locations in Gilroy and Santa Cruz.
Kelly Moore colors will still be available, as most other stores are making an effort to match KMs most popular stock colors. And Home Depot already has pretty much the entire KM color palette in their computer files.

This porch ceiling was built with simple plywood and redwood beams. first, It was treated with Gemini brighter/ cleaner. This removed a lot of the stains and marks on the wood and got rid of the mildew that was starting to grow. While the wood dried, I sanded the gang plates and gave then two coats of Rustoleum heavy rust metal primer. Next day the wood was dry enough for a coat of Armstrong natural tone stain. After that, the gang plates got their finish coats of glossy black and all the trim got a fresh coat of green semi gloss.
now, the porch of this vacation cabin is a cool place to chill.😎

On the the job in Rio Del Mar. The eves of this beach house were pressure washed, sanded, primed and sprayed with two coats of Behr premium plus exterior satin paint.

One of my clients had an old worn out deck with a built in bench. I pressure washed it, treated it with a stripper/cleaner and pressure washed it again. The wood looked much better, but still a little uneven. So I chose a semi-solid deck stain from Behr. The green I chose complemented her lush, green backyard. I then painted the bench and trim to match the house trim.
My client was absolutely floored with the results. She said she was sure it would never look nice again.

Was painting a living room on the west side of Santa Cruz when I realized I was not alone in the room. Hugh the house cat reclaimed his cat tree.

This ipe wood deck was pressure washed, treated with Gemini cleaner/stripper and scrubbed and pressure washed again.
After it was allowed to dry for 48 hrs I applied a coat of Armstrong natural tone deck stain.
It really brought the color back.

I’m working on a job in Aptos and every day at lunchtime the neighbors cat shows up to disapprove of me.

This deck restoration job in Live Oak came out great. It was pressure washed, treated with a stripper/cleaner, scrubbed, washed again and given a coat of Armstrong redwood tone.
The Clients were very happy with the results and can’t wait to entertain on their “new” deck.
