Westside Aces from Waukee
Baseball program with experience growing young athletes
The Aces 11U fell short this morning in a heartbreaker.
However, the boys played great and congrats to McClain Netsch on hitting his first homerun of the season.
We are really starting to click and we are feeling good about the rest of the season!
Dawson Olson with the 2 run homerun to tie the game in the last inning!!
Followed by a game winning RBI for Landon Cary!
Way to go Aces!!
Well, the day didn’t end how we were hoping, but the boys learned from it. They know they can’t look past teams and they now know they have to bring energy to every game and practice.
Failure is nothing but a learning opportunity. Onto the next!

The Aces went to Principal Park tonight to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes Baseball take on FIU. It was an awesome game with lots of hits, runs, dingers and a Hawkeye win! However, the best part was getting these great families together for some fun and laughter.
Thank you Becky for thinking up the idea and coordinating all of the tickets! Thank you Sarah for planning the tailgate and getting the pizza!
11U plays tomorrow at 10 am in Norwalk against the Grinnell Tigers. Go Aces!!
The 7U squad was busy this weekend playing ball and celebrating our amazing Aces Moms. The boys did a great job and ended up taking 3rd place in the gold bracket. They have been hitting the ball very very well!
The boys ended the tournament sharing some special gifts with their wonderful Moms and showing them how much we all appreciate them. Thank you all for all you do!!
11U was off this past weekend, but I know those young men made sure their Moms knew how important they are. Thank you all for all you do!!
11U is back at it this weekend, playing in Norwalk, IA. Good luck, and go Aces!!
Thank you RaveBakery for the awesome cupcakes!
The weekend didn’t go how we planned, finishing 1–2 in KC, but there was a ton of growth in the 11U team. We ended up playing the same team back to back and battled them both times but came up short. They showed a lot of resilience and had no quit in them!
With that said, 11U has won 4 of their last 6 games and have taken some big strides.
Next Up:
11U - practice, practice, practice with this weekend off.
7U - has a tourney this weekend in the Des Moines area
Congratulations 11AA Silver Bracket Champions, Westside Aces!
The 11U Aces had a good day today!! 3-0 on the day with 3 run rules on the way to winning the Midwest Mayhem silver bracket. Way to lock in and finish the weekend strong! Next weekend, we are in Missouri, let’s go!!
It’s been a wild month of baseball and trying to keep up with these energized kids.
Our 7U Aces team got the opportunity to compete in their first ever tournament and they did not disappoint! They came home with some hardware and a first place finish. They hit the ball well, played great defense, and remained locked in for a long weekend. We couldn’t be more proud!
11U has had a couple of “preseason” tournaments so far and have been preparing for their first real tournament this weekend. They have proven they can compete with any team in front of them and have won and lost some great games. Good luck this weekend!!
We are going to start posting more frequently now that we are in season, please check back for updates on games and tournaments.
Go Aces!

It was awesome being able to get outside with both 7U and 11U last night. The boys were able to open up the arms a little more and see some true ground balls and fly balls. Practices were short yesterday but they were jam packed and everyone seemed to have fun!
7U Westside Aces uniforms have arrived! Hopefully, the old phrase “look good, play good” is true!
Aces friends, family, and followers. I have had a few people reach out and ask about apparel/ hats. Wanted to share that we currently have an online store open and taking orders. The store closes on Thursday, February 8th at 7pm cst.
If you would like some gear, feel free to order through the link. Order is being submitted on February 9th and should have everything back in March!

It takes a village, and our village is the best!
Yesterday, the Westside Aces from Waukee 7U team got together to have some fun! We went to the Tiger’s Den in Adel to play some whiffle ball and dodge ball.
It was great to get everyone together and start building some long lasting relationships. Next up, small group practices leading into our team practices starting on January 7th!
The Aces 11U group will be getting together on the 15th and should be a good time as well!

We are hosting tryouts for the 2024 7U and 11U Westside Aces from Waukee. Our goal is to give more kids and families an experience of a baseball family. We are not a team that is going to move on from players each season, instead we want to keep the teams together and build long lasting relationships and chemistry.
We are also a very experienced coaching staff for each age level and are looking to build long term success for our athletes on and off the field.
Come be a part of our family! 👇

Come be part of our story!! The Westside Aces from Waukee is a 4th generation team with desire to help more young players grow as baseball players, teammates and individuals. We are not the typical tryout team as we are looking to keep the teams together for the longevity of their USSSA baseball careers and build chemistry amongst the team and parents!
We are hosting tryouts on August 8th for both 7U and 11U teams in Waukee. We would love to see you there!! For more information please click the link below or reach out to Jesse James.
Please take 3 minutes and fill out the tryout registration form below 👇

We are a little over a week out from the Westside Aces tryouts. We had a great response to the first post but still wanting more 11U and 7U tryout registrations.
We are looking for players that are interested in getting better and growing with a team over multiple seasons. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a baseball family, instead of the typical “tryout team” where players and coaches change year after year.
Practices will be held in Waukee during the season and Urbandale/ Grimes area during winter practices.
Any questions please send to Jesse James.

Well friends and family, though everything good must come to an end, there is also a saying that when one door closes, another one opens.
With that said, the Westside Aces from Waukee story will not end with this last amazing group of athletes. Instead, we will be building upon their success and take the opportunity to grow 2 new sets of athletes.
We will be hosting tryouts for the Westside Aces 7U 2024 and Westside Aces 11U 2024. Our goal is to give athletes and parents the Westside Aces experience of growth, preparation, friendships, and culture! We will compete to win but coach to develop and have a lot of fun along the journey. We aren’t just looking for 1 year players, instead we are looking for players that want to join a family!
7U Head Coach is Jesse James
11U Head Coach is Andrew Utterback
Reach out with any questions.

Well, all good things must come to an end. The Aces played hard, played with energy, played with effort, played for one another and it showed. This past weekend the boys finished 3rd in their respective State Tournament division! This season was like none other. For the first time in the eight seasons played together, the Aces faced more adversity than any other season. So many one run games that didn't go the Aces way. The weather was unpredictable as well..seriously, we experienced downpour rain, flurries, wind, cold, heat, and smoke filled skies (thanks Canada). Luckily, mother nature blessed us with one final perfect baseball weather weekend! The boys also had their fair share of injuries! It seemed like they all were on the disabled list (or struggle bus) at least once 😆 and seriously CIS, what was up with all those 8am games in Ankeny?? We can say, at least the boys still managed to finish the season on a high note. The boys may not know this now, but all these ups and downs are going to prepare them future life's ups and downs. It's not always about winning or stats. It's being able to face adversity, being a good teammate, and not giving up. We as parents couldn't have asked for better coaches. Coach John, Jeremy, Jesse, and Matt taught our boys the game of baseball but also important life lessons throughout the years. Thank you all! Your time and efforts did not go unnoticed!
This is not the end, only a closure to one long chapter. There will be more chapters to add. We're not just the Westside Aces, we're family for life.

Day 2 State Tournament recap. The Aces had to fight their way back into the winners bracket. The boys finished 2-1 for the day and will face the Iowa Yellow Jackets today at 10am, field 11, Ankeny.
Day 1 State Tournament recap! Aces went 2-0.
