Removing raw sheet metal from wooden pallets/4x4 runners or into machines is a common process on any shop floor. Especially, if you are using a high-density storage and handling system, such as a manual or fully-automated tower.

Therefore, it’s important to make these material transfers as smooth and efficient as possible.

The Lean Manufacturing Products Pin-Table utilizes a flexible design intended to work with all sheet sizes and can handle wooden pallet or 4x4 runner configurations. Each 'pin' is independently movable on tubular framework to find the gaps in the woodwork and make contact with the raw sheet stock, making the Pin-Table functional for any wood/pallet configuration.

Improper sheet metal storage is more costly than business owners may think.

It's crucial to get the maximum storage density per 'storage footprint' to free up the most space and by going vertical with your storage.

That is why Lean makes sure to tailor every project specifically to each customer/project. That starts at the beginning as we learn as much as we can about our customers.

The first step of our rack selection process is to determine the optimal height.

Some questions to think about:

What is your overall ceiling clearance?
Do you have an overhead crane in the material storage area that limits rack height?
Do you have a mast / back stop on the forklift that needs to be accounted for?
Do your (current) forklifts have a maximum reach height?

Our tallest and most common racks are 14', but we've built to order as short as 6' tall for customers with ceiling and/or forklift restrictions. On the other hand, we've built up to 22' rack heights when going above 14'.

Regardless of what the height ends up being, we want to make sure we're maximizing you're available vertical space to free up the greatest amount of floor area.
