Did you know that our facial structure and volume starts to decrease in our 30s? That’s right- we lose bone volume, fat pads shrink, and our skin and supportive ligaments begin to stretch and sag. To add to it- the ability of our body to create collagen and elastin decreases (aka: we slowly become a Stretch Armstrong that can no longer shrink back)

What does a year of botox treatments look like?

This sweet patient of mine (and possibly my biggest cheerleader) agreed to let me showcase her before/afters over the course of 5 treatments. She was a tox newbie when I first met her, so her December 2022 baseline pictures are her natural movement without ever having prior injections.

The first slide in each series compares her December 2022 baseline to her most recent baseline in January 2024 which was taken 4 whole months after her last treatment. Even after all of the botox has cycled out of her body her fine lines and wrinkles stayed at bay- which is THE KEY to natural results. Her recent follow up pics are 🙌🏻 and she is glowing in person!

I treated this dear friend of mine back in December with Xeomin and her results are perfection 🙌🏻 . We fine tuned her skin care routine by adding ZO Complexion Renewal Pads, which made a huge difference in skin tone and decreased breakouts after only a week of use. Her skin will continue to improve with time and consistency and our goal is to back her off prescription tretinoin and switch to another retinoid product.

Here’s the treatment breakdown (keep in mind that all patients are unique and individual recommendations and results will vary):

Step one to optimal skin health: MEDICAL GRADE SKIN CARE

By far the number one thing I struggled with prior to becoming an aesthetics provider. There are SO MANY PRODUCTS. The world of social media is chock full of tips and tricks but it’s so hard to figure out what you ACTUALLY need. The products I personally use and recommend for my patients are based on evidence and contain no fluff or unnecessary ingredients. Here are the 4 must haves for everyone. ( Pro tip: you don’t need most of the things you think you do. )

1. CLEANSER: ZO’s Hydrating Cleanser is perfect for my skin that otherwise feels dry and irritated with just about every other cleanser I’ve tried. Use: AM/PM

2. EXFOLIATOR: ZO’s Exfoliating Polish is a literal fan favorite and if I could bathe in it I probably would. Gentle but effective. I have yet to meet a single person who is not obsessed with it. Use AM 2-3x/wk

3. TONER: ZO Calming Toner is my go to for my dry/sensitive skin, but if you’re acne or oil prone you will require one that has a higher acid concentration to really balance your pH. Use AM/PM (BONUS: all toners are 15% off in January, so it’s the perfect time to add one)

4. MOISTURE: ZO Daily Power Defense works double duty as a moisturizer and has antioxidants to protect our skin from pollutants in the environment. Two little pumps is all you need. Use AM/PM

One of the most frequent questions I get is ‘How many units do I need?’

This is a tough one to answer because it depends on multiple factors: muscle pattern and strength, forehead size, and how quickly you metabolize neurotoxins

Patient #1 had 20 units
Patient #2 had 12 units

Both patients had smooth looking skin 10-14 days post injection despite an 8 unit difference

👆🏻This right here is why the eyes are my absolute favorite place to treat. Both sides of this picture are with the patient at rest taken two weeks apart. Such a drastic, but natural result in her undereye!

Every patient’s anatomy and muscle strength is unique, but this before/after was achieved with 18 units of Xeomin to the Orbicularis oculi (aka crows feet).

Overtime her resting wrinkles will continue to relax. I am obsessed with her results and so is she!

I couldn’t ask for a more loving, thoughtful, and caring husband to build a family with and be a role model for our girls. Grateful for my in laws for raising him to be the person he is.

I couldn’t do a Father’s Day post without acknowledging my amazing mom, who from the time I was in 6th grade and beyond raised 4 kids alone, worked full time, and carted us all over creation by herself. I really have no idea how she did it, but she is a superhero 🦸🏼‍♀️
