Our tranquil beach was graced with the presence of a massive 9-ton bell buoy (that’s a staggering 18,000 pounds, approximately the weight of a school bus 🚌 or a blue whale 🐳 )! This gigantic navigator, usually seen floating in the ocean to guide ships, made an unprecedented appearance on our shores after a recent storm. We had a front-row seat to the impressive operation of the @uscg —a testament to their expertise and our maritime pride. The Coast Guard’s prompt response, assisted by the @uscgnortheast Marcus Hanna, a cutter from Portland, Maine, demonstrated precision and teamwork at its finest. It was a reminder that Maine has more to offer than just relaxation; it's a treasure trove of surprises, popping up like buoys on the beach. #MaineThing #BeachBuoy #VisitMaine #WellsMaine #LafayetteHotels
Wow. We had quite the storm that we had not seen in a long time here at Wells Beach. Our hearts go out to all of our Wells Beach neighbors whose homes and cottages were affected by the event. We're extending a huge thanks to all the first responders that were here during the storm and to all the contractors and good simartians helping in the clean up during ther aftermath of this storm. We're happy to report that we were not forced to close and are still open and operating business as usual here at the hotel. We look forward to welcoming you back to our little beachside town whenever your next trip up here may be!
