Vanity Threads Custom Embroidery
Vanity Threads' custom dog collars, martingales, dog drool bibs and people products are now online. Pat was an experienced seamstress and machine embroiderer.
A 9 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy we dubbed Raasa (meaning “shoots with an arrow”) joined our family in 1995. Vanity Threads was born ten years later as a result of our growing frustration at not being able to buy anything featuring Rhodesian Ridgebacks. After repeatedly proclaiming that “somebody ought to offer things for owners of both common and rare breed dogs” we decided to become that “
Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow mothers. I dearly love all my kids, both bipedal and quadrupedal, but I know that I am not the only one who occasionally felt this way.
Meet GCHS CH Tierra Del Mar’s Magestic Rainbow CGC, more commonly known as Roxi, fresh from her bath and modeling the bib we made her several years ago. We are told that our bibs last a long time and this is certainly proof. We wish Roxi and her Mom, Jackie, safe travels and much success at the Newf Nationals in Michigan.
Panther, our 12+ year old foster Granddog (from Pittie Project PNW) volunteered, or rather was volunteered, to model a few of our bibs. He only needs a bib when food is involved and this bib is a bit big for him, but at least he was a team player. Thank you, Panther
This new apron design seems particularly timely with the approach of the summer wedding season. It makes a great gift for a bride, Mom, a friend or for yourself.
We've been busy adding new jacquard ribbons to our collar collection as well as new bib designs. All are visible on our website at www.vanitythreads.com
We just stumbled on this throwback picture of our sweet Khani, now living at the Rainbow Bridge, wearing her favorite Christmas accessory. Merry Christmas to all of you.
Happy Holidays to all.
Theo and his neighbor, Skippy, modeling their Christmas collars, wish everyone a happy holiday season.

We are pleased to announce that the Vanity Threads website is finally a reality. After 14 years of dog shows, we decided that it was time to finally take Vanity Threads Custom Embroidery and Dogonista by Vanity Threads online from our home base in the State of Washington.
We are beginning our online offerings with our unique Dog Drool Bibs, Drool Towels, Jacquard Ribbon Clip Collars, velvet-lined Martingales and Lure Coursing Leads as well as a few "people products." We are continuing to work on the site. Embroidery designs, apparel and other products will be added in the future.

We are getting a lot of questions and they are all pretty much the same question, "when will the website go live?"
ANSWER: Hopefully next week. We will start with Drooly Dog Bibs, Clip Collars, Martingales and a few People Products, such as already embroidered Caps, Aprons, Jackets, Pillows and Towels. Dog, cat, horse and other embroidery designs as well as in stock blanks for embroidery (caps, tote bags, apparel, etc.) will come later.
We planned to post an update on our upcoming website, which is now in the hands of a professional website designer for "polishing." We hope to be able to take it live by next month.
Then, on Tuesday night we had an experience that we hope to never repeat, and assume that some of our customers have also experienced. We've lived in Wenatchee, Washington (over the Cascades and about 3 hours east of Seattle) for two years and have always felt fortunate to live far away from the wild fires that happen every summer, especially in eastern WA. That changed on Tuesday evening when the so called Red Apple Fire came within about a quarter mile of our house. They issued a Level 3 (leave now) evacuation order at 1:48 a.m., but like most of our neighbors we did not leave. We were prepared to leave, but waited to see if any structures were lost. We stayed up all night watching the fire and by 6 a.m. felt safe enough to catch a couple of hours of sleep. We still see smoke on the backside of the hills to the north of us, but there is no vegetation left to burn on the lower hills closest to us. The pictures below were taken from our patio at about 2 a.m., 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. on Wednesday respectively. We are grateful to be safe and still have a home and our business equipment and inventory, but never want to live though that again! Thank you to the many fire fighters who saved so many homes in the area.
