Well...that got spicy πŸ”₯ I'm sure there are a lot of great pics and videos of yesterday's Balsam Root fire. Thank you to HighLine Grain for letting our Rope Rescue Team perform several High Angle rescue training scenarios! Yeah...it's fun.

One of the best things about the last week of school, is all the requests we get to soak everyone!πŸ˜‚πŸ’¦ Have a great summer Wenatchee Valley!

Just a little "pre-fire" planning by the crews using the trusted 1 and 3/8" inch Deck Gun tip, flowing 500 gallons of water per minute! E13 & E1 are getting an idea of the reach of their hose stream in the area of Sand Canyon. Knowing our community, the capability of our equipment, and having a plan, are all important elements of the emergency scene.

With warmer weather around the corner, remember to stay cool and hydrated! Yesterday your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters assisted Mission View Elementary with their field day. Both the kids and the crew had a blast! #wscff #iaff #wenatcheevalleyfirefighters #wenatcheevalley #wenatcheeworld #iaff7thdistrict #union #firefighter #firefighterlife #chiefmiller #eastwenatchee #wenatchee #ncwlifechannel #iaff453 #workingfire #fire #firefighterfitness #wildfire #wildlandfirefighter #helitack #firerescue #roperescue #firstresponders #wenatcheevalleyfiredepartment #waterrescue #WeAreBetterTogether

If you live in the Wenatchee Valley, you likely witnessed the first significant πŸ”₯of the season in the area of Batterman Road, in East Wenatchee. Thanks to the assistance of several outside agencies, as a result of three total alarms πŸ””πŸ””πŸ”” and the incredible support of 🚁, the fire was able to be extinguished! No structures were lost and no injuries reported. The fire was estimated to be over 550 acres. Great job everyone!

Sometimes life's complicated...hang in there, there's always people rooting for you!

**Night operations at an aquired structure** Your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters are training on vertical ventilation, which is a coordinated tactic between fire attack (crews putting water on the fire) and the vent crews (crews removing smoke and gases). Aquired structures provide us with some of the most realistic training.

**Special Operations** Your Wenatchee Valley Rope Rescue Team recently performed the following training: Short Haul, Crane, and Gin Pole evolutions. The training utilized life safety ropes and our Aerial Apparatus (ladder trucks). The focus was on removing victims from a variety of locations where the best option may be through the use of our specialized equipment and apparatus. We work hard to be ready for anything!

Your Wenatchee Valley Firefighters constantly seek training opportunities in areas where emergencies are most likely to occur. Here, your WVFD Water Rescue Team are seen training in the Wenatchee River, gaining a better understanding of the characterstics of the river given the current flow rates. As the warmer weather approaches, remember the water temperatures are still very cold and always wear a life jacket!

At 9:26 am on 5/16/24, Wenatchee Valley Firefigters responded to reports of a structure fire in the 200 block of Fuller Street. Firefighters arrived to find a fire on the first floor of a residential structure that had extended into the attic. Crews quickly attacked the fire and perfomed a search of the home. A total of three dogs were discovered during the search. Two dogs appeared distressed and had to be carried to the exterior. A third dog exited on its own. Your firefighters were able to resuscitate one of the distressed dogs on scene, prior to it being transported by a family friend to a vetrinary clinic. The second dog unfortunately did not survive. One firefighter was bit in the process of rescueing the dogs, but was uninjured. We're happy to serve the Wenatchee Valley!

Sometimes you just gotta stretch it all! πŸ˜… Each of our fire engines carry around 3,000 ft. of fire hose! The fire hose comes in different sizes and is used in different application. Generally speaking, big πŸ”₯= big πŸ’¦. When you see fire hose on the ground, please give us plenty of space and whatever you do, don't drive over it! πŸ™πŸΌ

Our beautiful Wenatchee Valley! If you’re visiting the area or looking for a quick exercise in the outdoors, Saddle Rock is a must! Here’s a view from the top. Hydrate, and stay on the trail! The majority of our rescues in this area involve people who leave the trail system! Take care Wenatchee Valley! β€οΈπŸ™ŒπŸΌβ›°οΈπŸš΅πŸ§—πŸƒπŸš€
