Main Line Window Decor
A window treatment workroom to inspire you (hopefully) and show off the work of some fabulous interior design on the Main Line and beyond.
Can you spot the architectural eye sore in my dining room? I did a thing this weekend and you can check it out on our story to see the step-by-step process!
This room has 3 window styles at 3 different heights so designed a solution to add window treatments that not only look great but bring the eye up and make the space more cohesive. It’s always a pleasure to work with designers that have great vision for each space!
The mixing of patterns in this space by is spot on 👌🏼
Cafes are just mini drapery panels but it doesn’t just mean making them shorter!. A well made cafe has scaled down hardware, pleats and hems. We’ve been making them this way since I started in this industry over 20 years ago and they aren’t for every style of home but they’re my favorite option for a bottom half window treatment
Details from a recent project. Operable drapery panels are always a great option to add privacy to a door 🤩
These roman shades and privacy and elevate the look of this playroom space for
Just giving you a peek of this beautiful living space by . Im pretty sure if it’s Baader-Meinhof phenomenon but once I started looking for a deep olive green fabric for my own bedroom I started seeing and falling in love with deep olive fabrics like this one! This space was totally transformed and I’m here for it 🍃
Swapped out a bold navy and cream pattern for a gray sheer with a subtle pattern in this display. More to come!
Drapery hardware can be one of the more challenging components in window treatment design. We typically prefer to get a finish/style direction from the designer and then we take on the liability of the details. In this case we decided to ceiling mount because the sill projects about 7” from the wall. The rod is heavy gage so it has thicker walls that allow for fewer brackets and we go it spliced (cut in the center) to avoid passing hundreds of dollars in freight fees along to the homeowner. If it looks simple, we did the job right!
A well designed primary suite like this one by adds so much value to everyday life. I love how this one is both soft and dramatic at the same time 🤍 🖤
Timeless design is always expected in a home. Snapped this quickly when I got to pop back in this home yesterday and was taken in by the combo of warmth and attention to detail
This collaboration with was so enjoyable to work on I have to say that wrapping up feels a little bittersweet! The drapery panels and shades are made from the same fabric but we added a forest green banding to the panels to tie in with that beautiful sofa. I can’t get enough green these days and I didn’t lie on the couch but it looks so comfy I’ll admit I was tempted!
Returned to this home yesterday to discuss new spaces and see how we could squeeze in sheers under these panels even though there is no room in the beautiful wood molding that came with the home. I think I have it all sorted out which is good because my word for 2024 is YES! Professionally, I’m trying to be more willing to think outside the box which is a struggle for my left brain which serves me so well in other aspects of this industry. I know it’s just February but we have some pretty big out of the box projects coming up this year and I can’t wait to share them with you!
This homeowner wanted a woven wood shade in her kitchen door BUT we didn’t want to mount on the frame and needed maximum clearance for taller people using it. So we did this textured roller shade instead and were able to achieve the look and the practicality!
Sometimes less is more- like this slim loft roller shade for
opted for 2 layers in this girls room- blackout roller shades inside the windows and privacy roman shades outside. Isn’t this a girls dream?!?
The best remedy for the Sunday Scaries is an office you want to work in like this one designed by There are lots of finishings still happening in this home but each new detail is 🤩
It would be hard to pick a favorite part of this room but the window treatments with embroidered fabric are definitely a contender. I just hope has some good before pics of this space because the transformation is 🔥
Woven wood shades:
- bring a natural element inside
- add texture
- are versatile
I like to use woven wood shades for layering and in spaces that can use warming up without blocking a lot of light like kitchens and bathrooms and, well, just about anywhere!
One of the most luxe solids we worked with this year was this one for . Fabrics like this are a good reminder of the big impact that even the most subtle draperies can make!
We wrapped up some pretty amazing projects at the end of the year, on of which was this beautifully curated home designed by Each fabric was so special and a joy to work with!
If you’re a workroom you can probably understand the horror of making a 5 width blackout lined ripplefold panel with a horizontal stripe where the pattern shifts up to 2” throughout. The only way to make this so that it hangs properly was to use steam to manipulate the fabric so that the pattern was more consistent throughout. It was arduous and took many hours and 3 people at times but the second we rehung the panel we could tell that it worked. Also, since I was the fabric steamer I expect to have amazing skin for the rest of the week. If you’d like to have light steam on your pores for several hours, we’d be happy to call you the next time we have a horizontal stripe that is not so horizontal 😉
Sometimes window treatments can be used to trick the eye. And when they do, it should be as subtle as possible. swapped out gold satin treatments for a fresh neutral gray. There was much thought put into the fabric, pleating, hardware and of course- the cutout around the fireplace! You know what they say “measure twice, say a prayer, measure 20 more times and cut once!
Had to share this in case you missed it in our story last week. turned a standard room into the ultimate workspace with custom built ins and new everything- literally from floor to ceiling! I loved seeing how the fabric that she selected fit into the whole color scheme
The balance and mood that created in this room is beyond impressive. The mixing of patterns and use of color is meticulously executed and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the next phase of this project!
This homeowner was told that she couldn’t have shades mounted inside her window frames. It’s true that some windows don’t allow for the mounting that you see in an inspiration picture but often times there are options to create the look you want! These discussions can be a lot to take in but are a vital part of shade design
Such a handsome boys room by
Woven wood shades are perfect for sunrooms. They can be unlined (like these), privacy lined or blackout lined and bring the natural elements of the outdoors inside

There is no such thing as an effortless install in Rittenhouse square. Between parking and unloading and service elevators sometimes 2 hrs of work are put in just to show up! But then you have great designers with great clients reach out and it’s all worth it! Not to mention I’m a sucker for a padded cornice with absolutely no embellishments- it’s soft yet structured and understated 🥰
