Meet the man behind what's in the bottle.

Kieran Robinson, our esteemed Winemaker, has been producing wine in Napa & Sonoma for over 20 years, representing some of the biggest names in the game such as Cakebread Cellars, Paul Hobbs, and Jericho Canyon. Many of the wines he's produced over the years have scored 90+ points and we couldn't be more grateful to have Kieran on the Turks Head Wines team. From the vineyard to the bottle, Kieran is completely hands-on throughout the process.

As a Chester County native, Kieran currently splits his time between Napa and Downingtown, where he owns and operates with his wife Kristie. Kieran produces Rhône-style varietals for his own wine label, R Five Wines while focusing on Bordeaux-style varietals for Turks Head Wines. Quite the tasty lineup!

Deep garnet in appearance with noticeable weight in the glass, our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon starts out with sweet black plums, cocoa, and violets, but also has a savory and herbal component with sage and rosemary adding complexity and intrigue on the nose.

With 50% new French oak and utilizing some of our finest cooperages, the palate is enveloped by fine tannins that need a bit of time to resolve, but also with earthier elements of leather, slate, pencil shavings and coffee grounds to compliment the black cherry, black plum and savory kitchen spice.

Our wonderful town of West Chester was originally known as the town of Turks Head. While the original ‘Turks Head Tavern’ sign from the late 1700s is currently on display at the Chester County History Museum, we came upon a fun piece of more recent Turks Head history that we’ve incorporated into the design of our Tasting Room.

In the early 2000s, this one-of-a-kind sign hung outside Jack and Yvonne McFadden’s reputable restaurant, the ‘Turks Head Inn’ (now Barnaby’s), and we couldn’t be more excited to bring back fond memories for so many…
