This is from a neice of mine who just returned from a trip to Iceland. It is also my feeling from our trip many years ago. If you have an opportunity, GO!
For anyone thinking of visiting Iceland, do it. Those of us who went all have a list of things we still want to do next time. Airfare and hotel/ Airbnb were comparable to a trip in the states. After that, I spent about $1000 for 8 days including food, drink and excursions. There is so much to do for every level. We had women from their late 30’s to early 70’s in various states of fitness, and we were able to take the tours, walk the hills, do the glacier and the ice cave. Everyone involved with customer service from the hotel desk, taxis, tour guides, waiters, were excellent. Splitting checks, they would just have us go to the bar to pay, tell them what table number we were at, and what we had. Bonus for English speaking casual dressers, most people there are fluent in English, and it’s used as much as Icelandic. And most walk around Reykjavik dressed as if they’re ready to go on a day hike. I was worried about being too cold, but we weren’t outside all day, and I found myself too warm inside more than I found myself too cold outside. I was never “too cold”, and this is coming from someone who moved to Florida to get out of the cold.
It's that time again!!! All pertinent info attached, feel free to print out the forms and send them in, we hope to see you there!

It's Science! It's History! It's Vikings!!
Vikings were in North America in 1021, well before Columbus, researchers say Vikings from Greenland — the first Europeans to arrive in the Americas — lived in a village in Canada’s Newfoundland exactly 1,000 years ago, researchers say.

This delightful woman was already in her 90s when she climbed on board our ship for the Brooklyn Parade! She will be missed.
It is with great sadness they I inform you of the passing of Elsie Willumsen, aka The Viking Queen (at the Viking Fest and 17th of May Parade). She was a founding member of the Scandinavian East Coast Museum and was very beloved and remains loved by the SECM gang.
Her daughter wrote the following:
Mom passed away yesterday afternoon after a long life of 99 1/2. The photos are only a few of 100 s but these are my favorites. She loved the limelight and getting attention. I will miss her love of life and holding her hand. (You can see these photos on Ellen Willumsen Ryen's page.)
Blessings to her daughter, grandchildren, family and friends and all who loved and continue to love her. RIP Elsie. I imagine you and Kris dancing in each others arms. 🦋🦋🦋
