The jazz world lost another great musician today... I was very fortunate enough to meet this incredible man back in 2017 at the WCSU Jazz Festival. Even though he had cancer, he was so full of life, energy and of course, love for the music. He told the audience that night that he was going in for surgery soon to remove a cancerous tumor and that he was nervous about it. After he performed, I walked up to him, shook his hand, and told him that I’d keep him in my prayers, and that I believe he will get through this strong. He gave me a big hug, and we parted ways. It’s such a shame to be writing this status, but at least his suffering is over, and his music and musicianship will live forever. Rest In Peace Ralph Peterson Jr.
A little “Chick’s Tune” for Chick!
Had a great time with my dude, Andrew Wilcox tonight! The next stream will be with my good friend, Tom Polizzi on guitar! Here’s a clip from Andrew’s reharm of Victor Young’s “Stella By Starlight!”

He is a recent graduate from The Hartt School and is currently working on his Masters in Composition At UMass Amherst! He is seen performing throughout the Hartford area with his own bands, The Andrew Wilcox Trio and Sextet, and as a sideman with many other musicians. He continues to wow the jazz community everyday with his dedication and amazing musical taste. I'm honored to call this man a great friend! We're excited to play some original compositions of ours, and arrangements of our favorite tunes! Hope you'll join us!
