Description & Details
This weekend we are pleased to present the collection of legendary TV writer Matthew Weiner and acclaimed Architect Linda Brettler. Set inside their spectacular historic, "old Hollywood" home, lovingly designed and restored by Ms. Brettler, the collection features furniture, decor, vintage barware, an unbelievable book collection and objets and swag from the set of Mr. Weiner's hit TV show, Mad Men, which aired on AMC for seven seasons from 2007-2015. Widely considered one of the best TV shows ever made, Mad Men started as a spec script written in the off hours from his day job as a writer on the sitcom "Becker." The script led him to the Soprano's where he spent three Emmy-winning years honing his dramatic writing chops. It was AMC who picked up the Mad Men pilot and eventually scheduled it for Sundays at 10pm. Arguably the last appointment TV show ever, Sundays at 10pm were reserved for the 1960s, the Drapers and the goings on at Sterling Cooper. Seven Emmy awards later - and many more awards in nearly every category, Mad Men and Mr. Weiner have achieved icon status...and perhaps this sale will, too. Don't miss it.

PSA 99 Cent Only Stores closing ALL stores. The chain sent out a press release stating that all 371 of the 99 Cents Only will be shuttered forever, and they are winding down its business.
All joking aside, they really are having a closeout sale including fixtures.
This is due to the high cost of importing and inability to secure merchandise for pennies to the dollar any more.
The owner of the chain is a billionaire, so no need to feel bad for the owners, but the workers owned minimum wage -- feel bad for them.

EUGENE, OR APRIL 10, 2024 AUDITION FOR GUITARIST! Cherry Poppin' Daddies is on the search for a guitarist in the Oregon area. If you want to know more - the below is their announcement.
*************************************
Hey everybody,
The Daddies are holding auditions for a guitar player in Eugene, Oregon on the evening of April 10, 2024.
This position is somewhat challenging in our band as we have multiple aspects to our music. Our main bread and butter is Swing music (which to us cuts across the entire swath of 20th C popular jazz - in fact some of our songs even utilize a 4 string jazz banjo). Secondly, we are active in the Ska/Punk, Pop Rock & Funk genres. We are recording a new record right now (20 songs!) in this vein.
This position requires a specialized rhythm guitar skank feel which is notoriously difficult for even the best guitarists to sound good playing. A touch of familiarity with crunchy Funkadelic and tasteful funk playing would be super helpful as well. Thirdly, we play a side order of rockabilly/ psychobilly, so some familiarity with rockabilly would be a plus (we have tunes slated for a future record that will be broadly punk-a-billy). If you can sing harmony and might be willing to play/learn a few tunes on a 4 string jazz banjo, bonus points! We will try to reflect all of those feels in the 5 or so tunes we choose for the auditions.
The band is based out of Eugene, Oregon with several members living in Portland, Oregon. We play nationally mostly and occasionally internationally. We have been a band since late 1988, but even though we are a double platinum selling band with a long track record, our new material has never been better. It’s going to be very cool for someone musically ambitious, as well as a good rhythm player, to be a part of this. Looking forward to hearing from you!
If you wanna take a shot or have any questions hit us up in the
DM’s and we will get you the tunes and a time slot.
Steve
