Sunday was the 2nd Year Anniversary of The Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center (CONOTEC), and we were so proud to be present at this lovely event. The Connie has been the home of the Transgender Chorus of Los Angeles as well as FLUX of the Aids Healthcare Foundation, The Unique Women's Coalition, TransCanWork, Project Q and Mirror Memoirs. In my country, queer children grow to be stripped away from their identity through silence and shame, and it infuriates me to see conservatives pushing for people to hide their rainbow, knowing how much light we provide to society. Becoming positive examples to educate people about who we are is essential. It goes beyond all the marketing and celebrations, it’s really about seeing each other for who we are in order to UNITE and install change. So grateful to all these leaders for sharing their light with the community. We must repurpose our understanding of visibility and self love to provide a true sense of community. We need each other, alive and in good mental health. #pride
