Onyx Auto Preservation
RESTORE + PROTECT + PRESERVE
All set on this 991.2 GT3! This beauty got the works. Even better because the owner is a driver, so she’s ready for many more smile miles.
PS - Is Chalk one of the best PTS colors? I think so 😍
Spent two days with .usa and learning all aspects of leather and vinyl repair and restoration. Just another piece of the puzzle for Onyx. Excited to offer this to our clients and truly get that interior on point 😎
Filmed an episode with cleaning up the interior on this barn find S14. Link to the video in my bio!
I filmed an episode with Vin Anatra cleaning up the interior on his barn find S14. Check it!

Meet your heroes Monday (should I start that? 😎). 991 GT2RS full exterior and interior detail. Shine bright like a diamond they always say 💎
A good client of mine just picked up this 2020 Porsche Macan GTS and brought it in for a good clean slate to start her ownership. Exterior detail and sealant, engine cleaning, interior deep cleaning got her lookin real nice 🤠
1 of 500 made exclusively for the JDM market, the Subaru Impreza STI 22B breathes some of the rarest air. This beauty will be for sale soon. After a full respray, it came to me to get cleaned up in prep for sale. I focused mainly on the interior, given it a deep cleaning including carpets, upholstery, and Alcantara. From there i moved to the outside where I polished all the glass (JDM imports all seem to have a water spot epidemic), cleaned the engine bay, polished the exhaust, and gave her a final cleaning. I love having the privilege and responsibility of ensuring these rare and important cars are presented in their best visual light.
Got a special one in the bay today. Where are the Subie fans at?
Bigger is better! This is an original owner 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD that has been garage kept its entire life which received an exterior detail, polish, and ceramic coating. The paint was in excellent condition other than showing it had excited for 20 years without a polish. The biggest hurdle was how hard the paint was, making it very difficult to remove larger defects. For this one step I actually used a compound and wool pad to achieve the results. With the paint being hard, the aggressive pad/compound combo did enough work to remove defects while not leaving any hazing behind. In addition to the polishing and coating, all plastic trim was restored, wheels were polished, wheel wells detailed, exhaust polished, engine bay cleaned, and new emblems, headlights, indicator, fog, and tail lights were installed.
Custom Porsche banner install. The client wanted matte black with gloss black logo. There are tons of websites that sell banners, but none that sold them in this combo. So I used some matte black vinyl and ordered a gloss black logo 👌🏻
Some before and afters on this AE86 interior cleanup. The boys at have had this in surgery for many months. So between the almost 30 years of use and months of sitting in the garage with no seats and windows open, it needed a good going over. What better time to do it than before the rest of the interior is installed.
Raptor cleanup! Aside from the normal detail I treated the exterior plastics and cleaned up the engine bay. The gen Raptor is still 🥇
Turns out the steering wheel is blue 😆
Any time I’m cleaning an interior and find random hardware, I put it aside as 9 times out of 10 I’ll end up finding where it goes as I clean and reinstall it. I also keep an inventory of interior panel clips and fasteners to replace loose, broken, or missing ones.
It’s AE86 day at Onyx. First up is this imported RHD white beauty. The exterior was in good shape, so I spent most of the time cleaning up the interior
Save the steering wheel stripes? Pretty common issue in first gen Ford Raptors. A little sanding and dye, and she’s good to go
Couple fun washes yesterday. Which one are you taking home?

She’s for sale at if anyone needs an American missile!
This was an interesting one. This C5 Corvette Z06 came to me with the dash in the top photo. It was covered in some sort of semi-permanent coating or paint. The client was considering buying a new dashboard as attempts to remove the shiny surface had previously failed.
I first tried some pretty typical interior cleaning methods yielding no results, so I had to get creative. I needed to figure out a way to remove the coating while not damaging the leather underneath. I ended up using Panel Wipe and a Magic Leather cleaning brush. The panel wipe is alcohol and solvent based, which helped dislodge the bond between the coating to the leather, and the brush offered safe agitation.
Once the coating was removed (which came off in tiny black sticky, gummy pieces), I found a few small areas with possibly a different coating. Nothing I tried made any difference in those areas, so instead of increasing the risk of damaging the dash, I made the call to leave them alone. The dash looks 95% better and best of all, the client is happy.
If anyone has any insight into what was on this dash. Let me know!
Detailer OCD kicking in! This E55 was completely polished and ready for coating, and as I was wiping down the hood, I knew it could be better. The hood also was one of the worst offending panels with a failed ceramic coating, so I wanted to make sure all the coating was gone. Hit it with 3k grit, compound and polish, and she look real nice.
I like to put a little extra focus into these key focal panels. To me, the hood is the most important panel on a car. It covers a lot of real estate, it’s flat, it’s low enough to see the entire surface from almost any direction, and it’s one of the first parts of the car people see.
Your roof is not a counter 😆
Here is a follow up to last nights post. This entire section all had the same defect, which appears to be solvent pop/pin holes. Compounding had no effect other than making it very shiny solvent pop. Hitting it with 3000 grit only took one pass to completely remove. Followed up with compound and she’s as good as new 💎
Stealth PPF wrapped Tesla Model X cleanup from earlier this week. I spent a lot of time with the pressure washer blasting dirt, twigs, and leaves from just about all the seams and crevices.
Same era, completely different vibes. Cleaned these two ladies up yesterday. I’m partial to European cars, BUT, that d30 Skyljne embodies the 80’s. Which one are you taking home?
Gave this 2017 VW Alltrack a good polish and ceramic coating. There weren’t many defects in the grey paint, but it had an old coating on it and spends a lot of time outside, so shined and protected her for more years of enjoyment. The biggest change was polishing all the lower silver trim. It really pops now 💎
