Wan Yunfeng’s distinctive gowns are crafted from discarded items such as commonly found plastic waste including polythene, bottles and bags and plastic ropes. It is a 100% Natural material made from organic bacterial cellulose grown on agricultural waste from the coconut industry, banana stem, hemp and sisal fibres and natural gums. They use exclusively natural dyes extracted from the finest plants from all over the India. Their gorgeous earthy colours come from: Plant Chlorophyll Marigold Pomegranate peels Madder Root Indigo Plant Gallnut Iron No extra energy is used in the dyeing process unlike during traditional dyeing processes with plant-based dyes. Coconut leather feels like leather but it is vegan. it is durable, flexible, water and abrasion-resistant. It does not contain any plastic coating or synthetic ingredients, making it biodegradable and entirely compostable. Coming 2023

All our linings are from Khaloom textiles. Their textiles are all hand-woven on handlooms using a craft passed down for generations which do not require any electricity! Machine looms can take up to 126 kWh, equaling up to 93 KG of CO2 emissions. They also use the cutting waste from industries and clothes that are discarded, the waste is shredded mechanically into fibres and spun into yarns and then constructed into upcycled textiles. Using these recycled yarns helps address textile waste and combined with their zero-emission techniques makes for a more sustainable fabric that Maymucki is proud to use.
