I LOVED making this cake! I was given very specific instructions about colors, flavors, and the design by the little 8-year-old bday girl, so I was a little nervous about getting it just right! I decided to add one special creative touch around the sides for this little musician - the music notes for “Happy Birthday” 🥳

This cake was inspired by my ultra-love of horror movies and my time living in Japan years ago. I love reading about bakes from other parts of the world and experimenting with new recipes when I have some downtime! This week’s new bake was karpatka- a Polish cream puff cake made with choux pastry and filled with pastry cream. The unevenness represents the ridges of the Carpathian Mountains in Poland.

This was a gift for a Polish friend of mine who has a great smile. 😁

Last Spring, I was asked to make an engagement cake for a sweet couple who met at Skyline Chili. And I was pretty excited when they asked me to make another cake for their wedding!
